Thats awesome. Thank you. I try to show some detail of what I'm doing to help others get creative with their own ideas. I've been thru a lot of builds that have given me ideas.

Re: 67 GMC super custom build

I added a headlight switch with vacuum switch on it Ana a vacuum switch from from a trans converter to the headlight washer system this way the headlights will only get washed if they are on. Save on washer fluid this way.

Re: 67 GMC super custom build

I squared out all the holes on my rad support and I took 6 nuts out of another rad support ad I added them to mine where the transmission cooler mounts so it will appear stock.

Re: 67 GMC super custom build

Not much happening now but I got my custom emblems mounted! I was going to drill the holes for the mirrors too but Decided to wait till I put the seat in the truck first.

Yeah that looks nice. Post a pic of the truck from the sides if you will. Looks like a nice rig.

Re: 67 GMC super custom build

So as I keep looking for parts for the HD air cleaner option the more I find. All of these had a 4 inch duct coming in from the firewall to the precleaner but from there 2 bbl trucks had a 3 inch duct going to the air cleaner. Well I just found a lid on ebay for a medium duty truck with this option ant that have a 4 inch duct just to the air cleaner like the one from the cowl. So here it is. The air cleaner is like this one but I need to find a oe duct now that isn't damaged from the cowl to the precleaner. I have the other in good condition.

Re: 67 GMC super custom build

With a few modifications I'm sure I could make this look like the general made if stock. I'd like to find another so both could be remote but if not I'll make the passenger mirror remote and use this other mirror to match sizes for the drivers side. .

If I remember correctly.

The early 1970 something Caddilac Had this on the passenger side front door.

Nice improvement

Re: 67 GMC super custom build

Yep. In 71 cadillac made this an option for both door mirrors. I'm hoping I can figure out a way to do this on the truck and not take away the stock look or make it bulky. I have a few ideas but until I get this Mirror in my hands I won't know for sure if I can make it work.

Re: 67 GMC super custom build

Well this mirror has run many ideas thru my head. But I just don't like the look of the square mirror heads on a 67 (even though they are much better for vision) so I decided to look for some round mirrors that have remote controls. These are what I came up with. I'm sure i figured out a way I can make these work with the stock arms. Just some surgery to the ends of the arms. The driver remote will go where the white dot is in the door panel. The passenger may go under where the choke hole is. Not sure i have enough cable length for that location though.

Re: 67 GMC super custom build

Well I made some progress with a spare arm I had just to make sure I can make this work before messing with the arm that I'm using on my truck. Here's what I came up with. You can see the light in the center of the mirror in the last picture. That is where the cables will o down the tube into the door.

Didn't like that look so..... here is the final version for the driver side. Now I'll have to do the passenger side.

Re: 67 GMC super custom build

I made a bracket that will be welded to the underside of my dash that will hold my wiper delay that member twoofakind made and my washer bottle low warning light module. I also started to round out the mirror mounting area on the arm to look inline with the mirror base.

Re: 67 GMC super custom build

So I think I'm going to mount the passenger mirror control under the dash right under the ac controller. The arm is bent on this piece nicely to make it look straight with the angle of the dash. Didn't have the truck here so I made a template to transfer to the dash.

Re: 67 GMC super custom build

Got my new seat cover material from sms today to make my new seat covers. This time they got the colors correct and they made the stich pattern deeper this time in the dark red like the factory did it. . They are a pain to deal with sometimes and have long waits but the material is so nice. Was worth the wait to have this correct. Now I'll get a local company to make the new covers and put them on.

Re: 67 GMC super custom build

Today I made 2 more brackets to mouth stuff under the dash. The 1st one holds my switch pitch convertor controller made by Bruce Roe (He's On A Lot Of Buick Websites) that helps adapt the unit for better drive ability and work smoother with the gear vendor. It will
Mount behind the glove box up under the dash. Next is my accessory powerbox for some of the accessories I have added. It will mount up behind the headlight switch.

Re: 67 GMC super custom build

Rad support metal work is getting done and a few small other pieces. Soon I can hang the front sheet metal for door alignment. And I can drill the holes in the door for the moldings

Re: 67 GMC super custom build

I took my buddy buckets to get the new seat covers made and installed today and had an unexpected run in with member "knuckle Nurse" who is now also getting new covers on his buddy seats now. They will be sharp looking seats when all is said and done!

Appreciate the kind words on the truck. I recently sold it to a friend and am finishing my other truck with a fully built air ride chassis and LS power.

I put Buddy seats in every truck I have built. I’ve got a very nice set of covers that were removed to make templates for all my sets.

I love following along on your build it has got to be the most detailed build ever documented (not only for volume of posts and info but for the numerous modification you’ve added). Congrats on your continued dedication to the build!
