Ernie was the "motorvation" on that, .

I'm still test fitting parts and pieces, but it's coming together. I went to the parts store and picked up a bunch of radiator hoses (they thought I was nuts, ), but I didn't want to make 10 trips back.... Any way, I found an upper that works perfect! I alsot go one for the lower, but I'm not really happy with it, so I'll keep looking. How do you like my "six-pack" holder? , just having a little 4th of July fun, enjoy!!!

Re: 68 S/C update.....

Not quite. It's running, driving. Not shifting out of whatever gear it's in (I think third, limp mode). Got a vacuum leak I have to hunt down. Idles pretty high (1400rpm in park/neutral. 700 rpm in reverse and drive). I've got very little boosted brakes, but when I turn off the engine and pull the hose from the booster there appears to be plenty of vacuum. I know it's a leak though because I can hear the squeek squeek. Can't seem to find it with carb cleaner or starter fluid though.

Sounds like you are making progress. Hopefully you'll get it figured out soon. Do you have any pics? I would really like to see the placement of your motor as well as how you mounted your gas pedal.

Re: 68 S/C update.....

I took some pics before, just haven't gotten them off the phone to post for you yet. It's pretty far forward. I could easily move it back if I decided to shorten the driveshaft. I may do that later as the front space between the engine and electric fans is very tight. The linkage worked great, just had to drill a couple of new holes to move the frame bracket down some. I'll get you some pics later on today or tomorrow.

While I've been waiting on some metal to finish my transmission mount, I started working on installing the Vintage Air unit. I used the templates in the instructions and have all the vent holes cut out in the dash. Next I'll start working on the firewall block-off plates and installing the evaporator.

Thanks! Pretty straight forward, eh?

On a different note, I'm wondering if I should invest the time in swapping my batter to the other side, so that I can have a cold air box?

Re: 68 S/C update.....

I'm curious how you're going to run the battery cable to the starter now? Maybe use a junction on the passenger side near the old battery location? Run the battery wire along the core support and down the core support to the frame and back to the starter? Or up over the inner fender and down the firewall?
