I want to go back and re-read this entire build thread again. you have done so much work since you started the project that i have forgotten all that you have done. the problem is that it will not be as good without pictures. do you have to update each and every pic? or is there a way to just turn them on again in your photos album webpage?

It looks like I will need to reload every picture. Not fun and I'm not sure if I can edit and re-post the pictures or if I will need to just start a new thread. That being said I think I can just load strait from my laptop.
So a few updates: Still drive it every day. on my 3rd set of front tires and closing on 85000 miles since the build. Truck looks a little different now with the addition of stake sides. I did this to haul gravel for a few projects of mine and the kids driveway. I have put the rear bags to the test with 2.5 tons on the back many times now. I have also been running air tools off the air compressor. I did find an issue with using the plastic tube off the compressor, after a few cycles it would get hot and pop. I now have copper line from the compressor to the auto regulator (also newly added). Basically I now have a 10 CFM 275HP compressor. Progress is still being made on the camper: floor is down, most of the interior walls are complete' larger round tilt out windows where built and installed. I have been used it a few times now and it's working out great. And in other news: I have bought a new project: A 1951 Suburban, been looking for one for a while and jumped on a local one as soon as it was listed. It needs a ton of work but it was at a good price, had good paperwork and came with a usable modern chassis (2000 Ford Explorer). I will start a new build thread on this one around the first of the year. Lets see...lots of other truck stuff going on right now, My truck will be featured on the back of our clubs annual t-shirt after winning this years "Best Rust" at our annual show. We had 115 trucks enter this year and only do 5 awards so I was a happy camper.

80,000 miles is an impressive amount of use since the build. Do you have a long daily commute?

Solid I would like to help you on the Cobra picks but I think I have it sold. Built it back in 2007/8, raced it for 3 years and have had a good time with the car but it was time to let it go. On the plus side a bit of cash will help with the burb build and the extra space is needed.

It's a great feeling to win and get your truck on a t-shirt anyone can buy. 85000 is impressive for even a manufactured vehicle, nice job. Burb looks nice, but I really want to see that camper when it is done.

A little more progress on the Turtle Shell: I got most of the ceiling panels in today. I trimmed the edges with 1" aluminum flat bar. I still need to remove the Cleckos and install rivets and replace 1 light which I accidentally pulled the wire from but good progress just the same.

Rob, the camper is looking very nice! That's great to hear you can haul all that weight with those bags too. My commute to work is 30 miles one way too. I'm glad I'm not the only one racking miles up. Haha Nice score on the burb! Those are hard to find. Sorry to hear the Cobra is going. I can relate though. I have thought about selling my vette to fund another project or two as well.

A little more progress today. Set the rivets for the trim work and built one of two bed frames. Still needs paint and I also realized that with the shell in the shop the bed will not fit in the door. Dope lol.

So I got the first of two bed frames complete. I wrapped the exposed sides with left over aluminum from the skin. I also made the top sections hinge for storage inside and added an outlet to the rear section. I was able to install the bed through the engine access hole. The frame is painted in a hammer tone silver, the rest of the steel trim will painted the same color.

Picked up an LS1 intake the other day, the idea is to remove the hump in the engine cover which will also help with room in the camper. The camper is also starting to come together. Bed frames are built and installed, even refinished a small cabinet my wife picked up at a garage sale to use as a night stand. The bed frames are 30X80 with under bed storage and the frames wrapped in aluminum. I also used the truck in the local Christmas parade, had a good time and 9 kids plus parents on the bed.

That's awesome! When swapping to the LS1 intake you may run in to problems with the accessories blocking the throttle body mounting/inlet tube. Just means a little more rearranging for you, lol. Still love this truck every time I see it.

There may be some minor stuff. Keep in mind my truck intake is reversed meaning the throttle body is on the transmission side. Not a whole lot of accessories back there.
