Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter

picked up a replacement motor for the GMC. 350 with camel hump heads. It was in a T-Bucket but only ran a few hours and he replaced it with something else. Sat for a couple years. I'll put a different cam in and new accessory brackets on and $$ dictates what else.

Original truck color was vermilion but was repainted, not too well I'll admit, by the PO a shade of maroon. She's a fine looking 30 footer. LOL

Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter

Got my Summit delivery (man do they ship fast) and spent a bit of time getting new drop springs and retainers installed. Top side of shock relocation installed but bolts only hand tight. Who makes a good bump stop for a lowered rear section?

Now I need to get the rear diff up on jack stands for cleanup and paint. Got new bearings, seals, etc. ordered for it now.

Thanks. Since bodywork and paint will be dead last I told my nephew this weekend that when it gets road worthy it will look much better underneath than on top!

Your white rims and chrome caps look great against the black paint. Just a suggestion have you considered duplicating the upper factory pinstripe on your truck. Pic is of a black truck I had with the factory stripe.

I just want to eventually paint the roof white on it, letter it up with old school logos as a shop truck while it is flat black. One day I want to restore it to the original color with all the trimmings.

It is a rusty East Coast truck that was built in Canada. I'm slowly trying to bring it back to life.

If it was built in Canada you can get ahead of the GM Heritage centre and get printout from them with options and whereis went to when it left the factory.

Thumbs up Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter

New push on door weather seal's installed in the 68 yesterday! Man they are nice and have plenty of seal area around the door. I'll be buying a set of these for my 71 C 10 very soon.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.
