Re: Building a Blazer - vtblazer's Way

Took a small bite out of the build budget for a new tool.

More like a new toy but I'm guessing the plasma cutter is gonna come in damn handy.

And check out the cheesey blue cart.
Oh well, free is free and in all reality it should work out really good.

Re: Building a Blazer - vtblazer's Way

Congrats!

That's a nice tool, it won't take long to fall in love with it.

I cut some 3/16" plate tonight with mine...a simple straightedge clamped to the plate gives you flawless cuts, and almost no cleanup. With some practice, you can even freehand curves pretty well with it too...

* Excavation - 9/04/08
* Footers to be poured - 9/05/08
* Retaining wall/north garage wall to be poured - 9/08/08
* Satisfy permit waiting period...
* Start bending nails by Sept 22nd or 29th.

Contractors says "weather-tight" within a week, we'll see.

I would guess that they are the all new multi-purpose lights...xmas lights for the xmas season and party lights for the rest of the year.

I like that rule of thumb, I'm going to use it from now on, if you don't mind.

Conversely, if the ash tray turns into twelve and you can't hit any of them, open the screen door and look for the Mrs. LOL

This is like a superstore build thread. You stop in just to pick up one thing the next thing you know you are leaving with a whole cart full.

Re: Building a Blazer - vtblazer's Way

DIY parts I received a couple weeks ago, 1st pic.

Almost ready to pour the walls, should happen today.
Pics 2 & 3.
My home construction site - pic 4. (freakin mess)

Quick edit/addition:
Other parts that have arrived also are:
*700r tourque converter.
*TPI serp belt assembly.
*700r lock-up kit.

If I had any space left in my basement I could start on the motor, maybe I will when the valve covers get here...

Re: Building a Blazer - vtblazer's Way

These mornings lately are getting chilly..... you're going to be graduating from fresh-air kid, to warm-workshop man just in time!!

It will be great to make steady progress all winter long. There's nothing like walking out into your own manspace on a Saturday morning with a hot cup of coffee, and being able to get to business in a warm, organized and well-lit area.

Congrats on all the progress...

NO! I have the rare Corvette sand in my yard!
The guy had me dug in about an hour it was so easy.

J/K, some areas are pretty sandy but the norm is dark/boney soil for the most part with a lot of ledge.

Actually, the couple dollars in a coffee can fits better, with your acquistion of the manspace, the blazer build, your boat and the new diesel

Nice progress on the garage build, looks really cramped in the basement...
Are ya putting tie downs in the concrete floor
