Thank you all for your comments. The tail lights are for a 1939 Chevy car. They are LED and are very bright. The panel sits on a 1981 Malibu wagon chassis that I stretched. It sets about 5 inches off the ground and is a static drop. Someday I want to bag it. The motor is a 402 BBC with a turbo 350 and a 9" F@#$.

Kabwe, The funny thing with the rear fenders was some dummy(me) cut them off with a plasma cut before finding out that nobody made replacements. Not even in glass at the time(13 years ago). So I figured it was easier to just weld them on.

Well back to the 54 now. Got a new tilt column from Southern Rods along with a column drop and lower column bracket. Just about done with the floor. Need to finish the upper piece of the tranny tunnel yet and weld it all in. Then put the the column in and attach in to the steering box. Then it will finally steer, making moving it around a whole lot easier. Here are some pictures.

Well I have the tranny tunnel all in an put the steering column in. I bought the southern rods 32" tilt column and ended up having to cut it down about 3.5". The column dumped right into the headers and the s10 headers only have a little bit of room the get the steering through. Tomorrow I will order the 2 u joints and the double d shaft. Then finally steering. Moving it around will then go a lot better. Next is the inner wheel wells and the rest of the sheet metal under the hood. Here are some pictures.

Here was a little side project I made for my buddies 1940 Ford pickup (was my first street rod). He bought the Inglese 8 stack injection and these are the intake tubes that go on top. They get K&N filters out in the front of them. I machined them at work and TIG welded them at home. I will get pictures when he puts them on.

in that last pic with the column shortened, i can see how the brake pedal arm sits. looks great... it also looks like theres more room for exhaust then i thought.
is there actually enough room for the exhaust to fit between the brake booster and the trans? i thought it would be too tight there for longtubes, but it appears to have enough room!

Me being the non computer person , I just figured out how the take pictures from email to save the to the computer and came across some pictures of the 54 truck before I started it. So as you can see it needed a little metal work.

Mr.Dude1, I looked down there and I think it will be almost too tight for long tube headers unless you cut the headers and modify them. It is pretty tight between the trans and the brake booster. I am going under the tranny cross member.

Well I finally have steering. I doubled up the sheet metal up for the lower mount so it was stronger. I got my joints all in and the steering column was the perfect length now. Pushed it out to clean up under it and do some plasma cutting and could now steer it back in. I am working on the inner wheel wells now. I have the drivers side hanging there and still have the lower back part to make. Trying to make it come down the frame and still have tire clearance.

MrDude1, no problem. I have full length headers on my panel but I have a g body frame instead of the narrower s10 frame. If you don't put the booster under there you probably could use them. Rememder all good things take time. Shannon

Started on the inner wheel wells and these were probably the worst things to fab yet. Still have to fill in front and rear ends and around where the a arms are. The wheel wells match up to the angles on the fire wall pretty well. Here are the pictures.
