Re: Project Money green
End of the month is my goal. Spent couple hrs at the shop this afternoon and got the fuel tank, filter, and lines installed. need to find some adapters to get from flared fittings to AN for the transmission cooler on radiator. exhaust is on the schedule for this up coming weekend. Driveshaft got dropped off at the DS shop to get modified. Lots of little stuff to do

Re: Project Money green
I'm exhausted!! Got the new twice pipes fabricated with MagnaFlow mufflers. Trailing arms made things a little tight. I picked up chrome tips but kinda like it without them. More of a stock appearance. Tacked everything up with the mig and stainless wire then finish welded with the precision Tig. I'm by no means a expert but learned alot and welds came out nice

Re: Project Money green
Got the new automatic column installed today with new rag joint. Installed the exhaust for the last time. Test fit new driveshaft and found out I had the wrong output shaft seal but new shaft fit's nice. lots of little stuff left but I feel there's a light at the end of the tunnel now

Re: Project Money green
Almost there, been chasing the details and working on getting wiring done. Finally plugged in the battery cables today and cranked it over! Fuel pump is running and everything looks good. My mechanic friend is going to bring his laptop down and load a tune in, hopefully that's all it needs to start.

Latest issue is that the junk yard I got motor from was supposed to give me everything out of the same truck and didn't. So I have a 2014 engine, 2016 transmission and a 2010 ecu. Problem is that trans is out of a Truck that had a e78 ecu and Mone is a e38 so it looks like we are gonna have to change TCM so that it will communicate. |

Re: Project Money green
It's alive!!! Finnally got it started and it sounds great. I have a few issues to get fixed like fans are wired backwards, swapping TCU for 2010 unit I picked up, nuetral saftey switch is bad on brand new steering column. When you put it in nuetral the starter engages so I'll have to call them and see if they will replace it. Must be backgeeding from backup lights. Mass air flow sensor is dead so I ordered a new one. Hopefully get this stuff done this week and drive it next weekend

Re: Project Money green
Thanks Paul, got the headlight wiring harness back in today. Stripped all the un needed original wiring out of the harness and installed new wire loom. Got a good laugh when I hooked up battery ground and horn button was stuck and blasted horns. Scared the hell out of me

Re: Project Money green
Took it out for the first test drive with no major issues. First the exhaust is way to loud, long tube headers, dual 2.5" ehaust with magnaflow mufflers. It's not terrible at light throttle but anything more then 25% rattles your brain. Going to look at adding a h pipe and some resonators. Truck also feels like brake booster isn't working and it trys to push through the brakes when your stopped. Tuner might be able to fix this.

Re: Project Money green
My buddy has a 60 catalina wagon with a similar set up and he had the same noise issue on the freeway. His daughters wouldn't ride in it. He already had the h pipe but he added 8 chamber mufflers and resonators. He also had a low brake pedal problem and he added an extra catch can to increase the vacuum capacity and that fixed his problem.

I would try "J" pipes on it before adding an "H" pipe. They quieted my Panel Truck right down. My wife wouldn't ride in it before the "J" pipes..... Also a lot cheaper than an "H" pipe. LockDoc
