Re: Got a new truck
I forgot to take the pict but we ordered the bender and notcher, so when they come in then progress until then just working on little things was going to put an exhast tube on the passager side, just to get past the starter up it has been delayed.
I decided to clean my fish tank its hot and smells pretty bad, I need to buy a ton of feeder fish to breed to because the pellets made the tank look dirty and smell, pretty bad heres some pics. THe small one The other big one, the fishs, in it are 2 piranhas, there pretty shy when we walk by, and a pacu, only feed them gold fish and its really clean only has a underground filter, hasn't been cleaned in twice the time as my biggest one, about 5-6months. MY biggest only 5gal bigger but has 3 oscars, a red snook, 2 sucker fish. It has a external filter, a underground with all four tubes running with 2 125 gallon pumps on it and looks like this in 2months. Progress pic on it in about an hour to clean it, and another 2 hours to fill and reclean it needed.

Re: Got a new truck
I cleaned the tank and plug all the air again then the stuff in the underground blew out so it got a little cleaner, and i suck out of all the ports for the underground i was using, so tomarrow i will clean it some more.
The picture the upper part so the back half is not going that way just as looking for ideas, it was a quick one and the front part is the one that I'm taking my time on.

Re: Got a new truck
I finally started the truck let it idle went back and forth to check the brakes and it idled great, the vacuum hose from the carb to the master was the problem, so the brakes work and it runs fine. Waiting till friday then the bender should get here.

Re: Got a new truck
Alright the pics beginning of working after we got a few more things, the batt died so we took it to get charged, picked it up moved it forward swept, and put it back.
The bender My dad cutting the truck, then grinding after it was in half. The tubes we welded up the hoop is just tacked, and yes it is bent a little to far, and the top is a little off from being parrallel. AND a stick we messed up.

Re: Got a new truck
I have some recommendations for you my chevy drivin lil buddy. What I would do 1st is box the rest of the frame... maybe bend 2 pieces of tube _/------ something like this and box them inside of the existing frame that will give you the rear frame rails with some room under for articulation. then gusset n box the 2 piece frame rails on each side and shape them as you need. here is an example from pirate that I saw.. looks like an awsome design

Re: Got a new truck
that's some good recommendations.
i like the idea in the last pic. seems to make it be more supportive and overall sturdier. i seen that build on pirate. turned out good till he tore into the front..then i lost interest. |

Re: Got a new truck
I saw that build and was going to do something similar, but with out being able to see it first hand,i went with a different design. I feel my design is study, should have got a pic of how we did the part your talking about will tomarrow.
R+the truck at xxx traction.

Re: Got a new truck
Whoops, guess i will start another post, we took the hoop off and if we push down on the back the back has some flex that will be fixed by finishing the cage, but the front goes up too.
The start, it is narrowed to 20 inches at the big plate. HAd to make a make stift stand for the back. the Brace for the middle bar. How it sits, now, yes the hoop is a little crooked, but couldn't do anything about it, one side is bent a degree off, should mess anything up, just looks a little funny. WE are going for a exo cage because of head room. But, who knows maybe i will do my other one the same as this.

Re: Got a new truck
I forgot to mention the rock sliders we made, not the prettiest or strongest but should work. No pics, of them yet, will get some. We ran out of wire and my mom went for a walk so, we didn't work for a few hours and i took a nap cause nothing was on tv. Now i'm not tired at all but it is dark outside.
We will have a hub to hub measure at 120 with the front end at stock postition, and 126-130 if we link the front. The rear axle will be about 10-12 iinchs from the back of the back half, for a great departure angle. 90+ with 35s at full pressure and 90+ with 44s at 5 psi. the end of the frame to the cab is 56in if i remember right, and the axle was going to be 40 but were pushing it back another 6.
