Re: My Build: Home Depot Machine

Checkin' in on the dust cloud! Wish I could find the Smart brand materials; local body supply wants 65 bucks for a can of Rage gold!! Summit has for 46....... Somebody making some extra dough somewhere??

The truck is looking really cool; Im about to be doing some of the body stuff soon, too.

Re: My Build: Home Depot Machine

Sick today so no welding or painting. I did get my door panels wrapped. Next is the burlap shift boot but I want to wait until I get the floor pan sorted. I am from Virginia and my fiance is Columbian so I like the his and hers concept. Plus w the head cold stuck at home I worked on my C10 model.

My handmade Dia De Los Muertos Mask I make a new one every year.

Re: My Build: Home Depot Machine

Motor is back in. Steering rack is in. New Gilmer drive belt, There is a 2 credit card clearance between the frame the steering input, the alternator, and the steering rack, and header. It is insane how tight it is packed in there.

Rear bumper final height

Re: My Build: Home Depot Machine

So I did a bit more yesterday. Everything is finally stripped. Still working on new sheet metal and welding that up, finished the firewall and the master cylinder setup. Made a short walk around video. Ran brake and fuel lines. Monday I am installing the steering shaft and end links, and air bag compressor and switches.

For now.

Were I have to route the steering rack

Re: My Build: Home Depot Machine

My hands are raw, but thankfully 8 hours of holding an angle grinder I can't feel how sore they are!

Re: My Build: Home Depot Machine

Few more things sorted. Running wires with new harness. Painted grill and bumpers white with matte clear coat, it looks great in person. I tried to get the pics to show the sheen. Fabricator is sick so bed isn't done and new rockers aren't in yet. Putting the accuair in next week and the steering linkage with 3 univeral joints was mocked up today. I will make final installations next week.

Re: My Build: Home Depot Machine

OK so I finished all the inside of the cab stripping. Took the dash and inside door panels and jams to bare metal, Sanded down the cab and roof. I am OVER body work. Put the new dizzy on and am waiting for the carb/throttle cable/kickdown cables to come in. Steering links are 50% done and the bed is locked in for the center section to go back in. Thanks to uncle sam I have ordered all of my final parts and will be hopefully moving forward with great progress these next 2-3 weeks.

Shift linkage is done

Re: My Build: Home Depot Machine

Ok so the bed is 75% done. Its lined up and welded in. I need to do some metal massaging at the bottom area but everything is going to be perfect. Steering linkage is done. Lots of parts in the mail right now but by next Friday I will have everything I need parts wise to get this truck painted and running. Here are a few more pics. It sits lower than I thought.
