Re: post all bagged c10 here

Here's my 66 project. Been about 6 weeks since I've touched it but I'm almost to the end of the honey do list and hoping to get back on the truck this week. Nothing special, just bagged the front on RE7's and raised the front crossmember 5" up on the frame rails. The back-end hasn't been touched just yet. Still lack 2" to lay frame, but it's still on stock spindles and stock uncut control arms so it would be easy to get there. It's got R&P steering also. It's back apart right now doing final cleanup and paint on firewall and front end, then finish the motor and set it back in for the final time.

I am using Air Ride Technologies Strong Arms, they make quality stuff, and the price was pretty good compared to others

it is not powdercoat, I am using basecoat/clearcoat. I wanted to use powdercoat but my truck is being worked on in Mexico, and they don't have all the fancy stuff we do. It is still going to come out nice though and sorry for not responding sooner

Re: post all bagged c10 here

I will add my unfinished project to the mix. It has 4x4 wood blocks holding up the front and just enough air in the back to level it out so I can move it around. Watch this thread for updates, http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=188766 . Anyone want to donate some wheels?

Re: post all bagged c10 here

It's just a simple air bag setup with 2.5 drop spindles. 2600lbs bags up front 2800lbs. bags in rear. 5 gal. tank viair 450 comp. , and parker 3/8 valves. C-notch in rear and chromed front suspension parts. Wheels are 20x10 and 18x8 with 275 /40 in back and 255/45 in front Toyo Proxes. Any more questions?

Looks good. I assume that is aired out front/rear? Just curious because that sure is lower than mine fully aired out in the front. I recently installed lower bag plates up front and they suck because I'm 4x4'n now at ride height. I've got 3" drop spndls w/slam bags. Crazy how much more drop you have with a slightly different setup. Oh well, the plates are going to get ditched soon anyway and shes coming down to earth!

Here's mine at full dump in front right now.

Re: post all bagged c10 here

Yes that's all the way down. The BS on the front is 4.5 (I think) and out back I know it is 5.0.

Hi, Did you have to cut anything in the rear to accommodate the lowering?

Re: post all bagged c10 here

Lower plates have substantial advantages over cups though. They don't move!!!! I made some for the front of mine and won't even consider a cup now! Not a single problem on this suspension to date. (crosses fingers)

Re: post all bagged c10 here

slam RE7 bags. cut out lower control arm and welded in big pipe for cups. quick and dirty top plates.

sectioned the engine crossmeber to lay frame with our dragging control arms, without having to do a frame z.

Nothing special about the rear at all. clean and simple.

Re: post all bagged c10 here

you got it man. 8" pipe, 1/4"" plate on bottom. doesnt rub anywhere at any height. the only thing i wish i did was to drill a hole to drain any water out of the bottom cup. I havent driven it yet but i am guessing there will be some water collecting in there.
