I love the “Ugly Snouts” for sure.

And it seems many people do.

Different is good in this game.

Re: 1961 Chevy Apache My Beater

Funny that.

Selling and not selling cars.

My 66 C10, despite being in bits is not for sale, but I maintain that I am not attached to my toys.

My Blazer is for sale at the moment as I have seen another interesting car.

More FUN in the 61!! I have been working on assembling my longblock for my vw fastback. I was able to bring the engine home last Saturday, in style!! The truck ran like a champ despite the Heat. A good 45 miles round trip.

Re: 1961 Chevy Apache My Beater

Progress. Time for a rear end swap. Excited to get the rear 5 spoke wheels on the truck. My truck has a 3:90 rear in it. Figured since I was changing rear might as well get a better rear ratio. I look in glove box for factory code sticker. I pulled rear cover to verify. I just learned that the Ring gear has a stamp on to verify ratio.

The S-10 rear end I am using is 59” between wheel mount surface’s. Below is a diagram careful though I am no arteest, drawing not to scale, dimensions are correct though. There is a narrower s-10 I found lots of them they measure 54.5” between WMS’s.

Really happy with the reader end swap. 3.90 rear gear to a 3.42 made a big difference.

Missed the last update as I was busy with dealing with life.

Your truck and attention to detail makes me grin here.

Looking good working.

Now that's a steering wheel I never thought of using, but I like it.
