Re: Vintage 4wd Pictures:Other Makes

here something different, i've always loved these old Roadless Traction converted Land Rovers

Quote:
Roadless Traction Limited built this Land Rover at the request of the Canadian Forestry Service in 1963 and 1964. This high clearance 109 was capable of crossing ditches, drains, boulders, logs or whatever. It was shod in 10 X 28 inch tractor tires and had a mechanical winch for recovery and handling timber.

Notice how this Land Rover has different width axles. The wider front axle allows it to steer, and the rear wheels, on a normal width axle, do not follow in the front wheels tracks, improving traction. There are only eight of these vehicles still known to survive.

Oh, if you like old Power Wagons you have to see this! Even if you don’t, you still need to see this video. This is amazing.

When I had a Power Wagon was when Jeep had that "Wrote the book on 4wd" thing going on and I got sick of hearing people say it.So,I came back with,"Yeah, and Power Wagon taught Jeep how to write."

Not sure if I got this picture here.If not, here`s another nice one:

Re: Vintage 4wd Pictures:Other Makes

I lost my picture files in the last year,so I don`t have ant Jeepster/Commando pictures. Thanks for popping a few up.There`s been a total lack of CJ anythings so far.I`ve always had a thing for the CJ6s.When I`d talk about then people would say."Oh,you mean the Scrambler".Nope, not the same animal at all.I first saw one on tv in the`60s,Daktari.
