Yep, mine is so close to where i thought it should be that i just left it in the stock location. I considered moving it back a little but after looking it over decided it would work where it was.

Re: '49 chevy with s-10

Got some time to work on the brakes this weekend. This is my first time making brake lines. At first i was scared to death but after a good friend of mine(that just happens to own a hotrod shop) came over and let me borrow some brake tools and gave me some pointers i think i can make this thing stop.

The chassis is looking good. Making your own brakes lines is not too difficult, esocially when you have the right tools.

Looking good.

Looks great. Your doing a nice job. That's somthing I've been putting off too. Maybe after watching you I'll try it. No front shocks yet? I'm hoping I'll be able to do my brake lines from just buying the lenghts from the parts store?

I was going to buy lengths from the parts store, then my buddy talked me into just getting 25' coils and using his straightner.
Front shocks are on my list of thing to do also. One of my friends gave me some front shock brakets that will work once i get a chance to buy shocks and install them. Buy the way your truck is going to be killer.

Rooster-

Thanks for the kind words. I hope to put more miles on it this summer.
Keep up your progress....we'll be watching. What is the width of your rear rims? I was going to go with 295's in the back but they were on national back order so I went with 275. I'm glad that I did because the 295'3 would not have fit.

Sorry to hear about the 295's but my rear rims are 20x10 with 4.75 backspace. My rearend maybe shorter than yours because with the tires all the way up to the top of the fenders they will clear but it is real close!! But with the truck at ride hieght i have about 1/2 inch on each side to the fender lip.

Re: '49 chevy with s-10

My rims are 20 x 10 with a BS of 4". I should have explained that it was the outside edge of the tire that would have hit the edge of the fender. It my be the 3/4" that made a difference.

Here is a pic.

I also have a 4 link so I'm not concerned as I don't have any side to side movement.

Thanks... as for the rear travel i have about 2 1/2" from top of the axle to the bottom of the frame when let all the way down. My tires are 32" tall and will hit the top of the rear fenders before the axle even gets close to the frame.

Rooster-

I don't recall. My frame uses a modified G-body frame and I looked through catalogs to find something from a G-body that had the correct filler location. I had to cut the filler neck down. Mine fills from behind the license plate. I also sent the tank out Rockvalley and had a fuel pump retrofitted inside it. This is because I'm running an LT1.

Thanks
Marc
