Good job, and Justin i'm not saying that because I'm your only friend! So when do we see the Square Body front end? What shows on the East Coast do you plan on hitting with the Burban?

Scott's hotrods shop truck

Justin wanted me to post this up for you guys, and rather than just stick it in his Suburban thread, I thought I'd post up an install here. The only thing not finished are the shock mounts, and possibly rack notches if it needs them, but I think that we are good without the notches.

Here ya go, I'll let the pics explain most of it.

Here's everything before going in.

crossmember bolted to the table for assembly. It's easier to bolt it all together, then stick it in all in one piece.

pretty idiot proof so far

Re: Scott's Hotrods Bolt in IFS install....

pretty sure the last thing I need to do is post a bunch of pics on how to take out the old crossmember, so we;ll skip that part!

OK, she's about ready to go....

New unit is rolled into place. The guys ended up using a big pipe clamp to squeeze the frame a bit. makes it easier.

a few bolts here, a few bolts there.

These c-channel pieces really make a big difference when it comes to stiffening the frame up.

And we're just about done.

Stay tuned till Monday. The brakes, the shocks, and the notches will be in by then.

Re: Scott's hotrods shop truck

On our frontend you see here we will be adding our sway-bar and our billet
adjustable shocks. We also have our Scotts standard ifs that come with adjustable
coil-overs that is in a bolt-in version. For the guys that do not want airbags.
We will welding our Scotts motor mounts to the boxed c-channels you see in the
picture. This frontend is a true 100% bolt on and now welding needed at all.

Re: Scott's hotrods shop truck

man, that suspension setup looks awsome. any ideas of wheel and tire combos its capable of laying frame with? Im just trying to do pros and cons with Porters vs Scotts setup. both are just intense how bout giving me one to try out?

Justin with the 14" rotors does that mean that a min 20" wheel will be needed to clear the caliper or will say 18's clear..Also is there going to be any back space issues with rim width on the A arms....

inquiring minds wil ask...and thanx for help'n out us truck guys

With the 14 inch rotor a 18 inch wheel fit and for the size wheel I am using
on my truck. It is a 20x8.5 with a 4.5 back space and the bolt pattern is a
5on5.
We had a small hick up today on the front brakes so they will be put on
the truck on tue.We did take delivery of our big block chevy putting out
640hp should make for some long burn outs.

Re: Scott's hotrods shop truck

Like Jeff has stated 29.5 tall tire on a 22 inch wheel will lay frame. The best thing about
our ifs the crossmember or rack or lower a-arm pivots do not touch the ground.Like
I said earlier this is true 100% bolt in no welding needed at all.No rack knothces will
need to be used either there is plenty of clearence for the inner tierods to the bottom
of the frame. For the pro's or cons you be the judge on that we can and we will if need to
be to list all the stuff that comes with our ifs for the price and the quality you will not
find a better package out there.
