It's suppose to hit tonight -- so we will probably be out tomorrow and Friday.

Re: High School Project Build

Well we are back to school after all of our snow, ice and then all the flooding.
This morning we put on some Cpp drop spindles, 2" spring that came from TNT Motorsports. Also some drilled and slotted rotors that were donated by Nsane hot rods - thanks Dewayne. Nsane has a great selection of parts

Nice parts! I will be remembering these vendors as I need parts. Will the truck be burning gas before the school year ends?

Just depends on what wheels we end up with. We're looking for a set of 20's like a boss 338 or something else that looks. Anybody have any connections of some wheels?

Re: High School Project Build

Lesson for the day -- don't use 6 cyl mounts.
I always use v8 mounts - but I didn't have any, so I thought I would try the 6 cyl mount. No matter how you cut them it wouldn't work - it would help with a/c clearance but it throws everything else off. Now we gotta go find some v8 mounts.

Re: High School Project Build

A buddy of mine brought by a set of mounts - but they were 6 cyl too. So we wasted most of the day chopping up the original mounts and making them work. I hope it will be worth the trouble - but we wont truly know until we try to fit the fan into the shroud.

The sbc mounts have the larger diameter hole @ the top correct?

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

Re: High School Project Build

The v8 stands are about 2" shorter in height - that gets them closer to the the frame rails - which lets the motor set down further toward the crossmember. I've seen the large hole in both sets of mounts - I think hole size was small in early years, and went to the big hole around '70 - I think?
