Wrap it in bubble wrap, then shrink wrap it, put it in a box. Any open or loose areas can be filled in with pieces of boxes.

I shipped a 1933 dodge truck grille from here in Idaho to Virginia through Greyhound. Just bubble wrapped it, then shrink wrapped it. That's all I did. No box. It made it safely with zero damage.

Re: Parting out '72 GMC longbed

The bad thing about shipping 69-72 grills is they are so light and get damaged easily, then fed ex or UPS may pay the claim and then they may not. If they do pay, the buyer gets his money back but the seller gets nothing and is out a grill. You kind of roll the dice on it.

I agree go to a body shop find a box similar in size. You may have to cut it down to fit the grill better then ship FedEx. Not sure if Greyhound is available anywhere near you it is near me Bay City Michigan. It would be interesting to see shipping differences between to FedEx and greyhound.
Thanks eric

Re: Parting out '72 GMC longbed

I need all 4 a-arms. No cross shafts please. If for no other reason those things are freaking heavy. Could you double check the threads for the bushing in the arms for me too. Mine were cross threaded at the factory. Need them shipped to WA 98221.

Re: Parting out '72 GMC longbed

I do still have the radiator and will ship it. Shipping is right at $40.

I looked into shipping the grille and it comes it at $75. The grille is in pretty good shape except the top bar having a dent in it you can kind of see in the pictures.

So for the entire grill are you looking at $150 total to my door? That would include the headlight bezels and side fender eyebrows as well?
Thanks,
Eric

Re: Parting out '72 GMC longbed

here are some pictures of the drivers door. Someone started messing with the upper door hinge cracks so I ground it to show it better. I can get it tig welded up if youd like. But there are no through rust holes or soft areas.

How much for the steering wheel if it's still available? Looks to be in good condition.
