last week added the brake rotors and calipers


and this weekend made some progress on the fuel tank
welded it up and made a filler hole and another one for the fuel sender



made some brackets
to attach it to the chassis

Could you post up some pics of how you cut the holes in the frame. I know you pressed the bevel in them---But, what made the hole?

i have cut the holes with a plasma cutter this machine make's live so much easier

not much progress made this week, only made a fitting in fuel tank for the fuel line

Looking good, in my mind I had the gas tank oriented 90 degrees from where you have it installed; rolled ends front and back for aerodynamics and to transition up into the bed when viewed from behind.

If you google metal hole dimple a bunch of links come up for punchs and dimplers, manual and for hydralic presses.

yes your right it would have been better
but i was limited on the width of my slip roll (25 inch)
now i ended up with a larger volume tank

the truck will get stock chrome bumpers and to hide the tank i will probably make a roll pan

I am curious about the roll pan. Many of them out there look like an after thought to the truck.

i will try to make a nice roll pan....

but first put on the front fenders to figure out what size wheels to go with
figured 18x8 4'' backspace at the front and a 18x12 6.75 or 7'' back space in the rear

Good progress. Nice with that open air roof. What are you going to do when it rains? Just kidding!! I see lots of other Chevy products in the background of your pictures. You should tell us about them in a separate thread and post the link to it here. That Chevy panel and the suburban look interesting.

today did some more mockup stuff
lokar shifter and steering column, and figured out in need 3 u joint for the steering shaft






cut a piece out of the firewall to clear the head


test fitting the radiator its pretty close

I also had to put an electric pusher fan on the front and a small puller fan at the top corner of the inside.

i have been playing around with the bake booster and master cilinder set up
and made a underdash setup

i had a complete set for the original location under the floor,
instead of buying an universal under dash bracket (that you need to adjust) i figured i could build one myself,

Nice work on the brake booster. I thought about putting mine under the dash but didn't want to deal with the reservoir.

i know it will be a pain to fill or check the fluid but its almost the same
as an under floor setup .
