Re: Pic Request: Rally wheels on a dropped truck

Ok, I know you've heard 100's of suggestions...
So, here is mine:
Front - Truck Rallye
7" wide Rallye
w/ 225/75R15 tire 28.25 tall
or
w/ 225/70R15 tire 27.4 tall

Rear - Truck Rallye
8" wide Rallye
w/ 265/70R15 tire 29.6 tall
or
w/255/70R15 tire 29.05 tall
or
w/275/60R15 tire 27.99 tall

This has always been my set-up of choice...

FYI... the stock 235/75R15 tire is 28.87 tall

Where to Find Rallye Wheels
5 lug
7" wide - 73-late 80's Van only
8" wide - 73-late 80's 2wd pickups & some Van's

6 lug
7" wide 73-late 80's 4x4 Blazer only
8" wide 73-late 80's 4x4 Pickup & some Blazer's

Re: Pic Request: Rally wheels on a dropped truck

I wanted to same look on my 68, so I made it so a month or two ago. I bought Corvette Style, 7" up front, 235/70/15 and 8" in the back, 275/60/15. The derby caps are Metal. Love the results!

Re: Pic Request: Rally wheels on a dropped truck

Will 15x8 rally wheels rub the lower control arm with 2 1/2" drop spindles? I'd like to convert my '68 to front discs. I have 2" front drop springs already (not installed) but read they aren't the ideal way to lower the front. I'm thinking of running 255/70 all around. It seems I've read the LCA interferes with rallies but that might have been when I was looking to put them on my '94.

Re: Pic Request: Rally wheels on a dropped truck

I called ECE a while ago with the same question as I had 255/70 15's on 15 x 8 rallys on all 4 corners on a stock height long box truck. I asked Mark at ECE if I put a 2 1/2 inch droppd front spindle up front with a 4 inch drop spring in the rear would the front tires rub on turns, and he said they may or may not. If you used a 245/60 15 up front or all the way around I am 99 % sure there would beno rubbing issues.
