Re: Ethel: The Legend Continues...

Not a whole lot of progress, but I did finish up getting a new connector on the harness to attach to my dash. Also borrowed a wide-angle lens so I can get some shots in the garage.

Can't wait till we both get ours done. I think we are about the only two slammed C10 owners in the area! We going to have to make a trip to quaker steak and lube this summer!

Don't hesitate to call if you need any help!

Re: Ethel: The Legend Continues...

If I buy any aluminum wheels it will be the combo on your truck! I always wished they has a straight spoke cast wheel in a large diameter when I did mine- the TTOs are way closer to what I wanted- only wish the backs were a shade deaper than the front, but realize that would require a different mold. They used to make so many more offsets in the 60s.

Absolutely! I think we'll start a trend in the area before too long

Thanks Jim! I'm with you on wishing for different offsets on them, but they were impossible to beat for the price. And my favorite thing about them: NO polishing!

Re: Ethel: The Legend Continues...

Well it wasn't the easiest thing to do by myself, but the rear bumper is bolted in place. With another pair of hands it would've been adjusted as well.

Re: Ethel: The Legend Continues...

Thanks guys!

If everything works out this weekend I hope to get the fuel tank back in and a hole cut in the bed so I can fill it. Beyond that I have a list of little things to take care of. I meant to stop by the driveshaft place yesterday, but the dog's vet visit took longer than expected.

Tonight I made up a bracket to hide the headlight and electric fan relays behind the rad support. Sorry for the crappy pic.

Re: Ethel: The Legend Continues...

Progress has been stalled for quite awhile now. Currently redoing our bathroom so that's a huge time-suck for the time being. I'll eventually get back to her, she's always there waiting.

i hear that! redoing our bathroom took a few months. then again, i gutted it to the studs, replumbed, rewired, set in a jet tub, tile floor, tile surround, blah, blah. it was a lot of work!!!

Re: Ethel: The Legend Continues...

Ok guys, time for an update.

I have not done anything on the truck.

Now that I've got that out of the way...

My wife and I are making plans to start a family in the next year or so. We've been looking at our financials and trying to put a plan in place so we are at least somewhat ready when the day arrives. With that in mind, debt reduction has become the main focus.

I am in the process of fixing a couple problems with my daily driver (2001 BMW 325i wagon). I'm still making payments on it and stuff is breaking faster than I can afford to fix it. So the plan is to have it sold ASAP. I do have a loaner car I can use through the winter.

Now, obviously I can't guarantee anything. I've had Ethel back for 2 years and 4 months now and haven't made much progress. BUT I am HOPING to pull it off in 2012.

When it came down to choosing between a reasonable daily driver and Ethel, I could not turn my back on her.

Now I just have to make her my daily driver
