Re: The beginning, my 57 LS powered streetrod

Did you use the same mount on both sides?? "CD59RH" and I am wondering if the clearance of the Nova clip is different than the Camaro??

Cause I found this info on the camaro mounts and was wondering which "tall" mount you used??

They will work either way, it depends on the position of your engine, I don't recall which way mine are but I swapped them to get them more centered on the crossmember.

OK, you guys using LS motors, what in tank pump set up are you using? I have a 69 Mustang tank. I would like to use a stock type unit with the level sender attached.

If your tank is a 22 gallon mustang/cougar tank it should fit without issues, the 20 gallon is just a little short but you might be able to modify the pump bucket and float to make it work.

Went to the junk yard and found the sender that goes there and put it on, it should not leak. You could buy a new one if you wanted.

2002 LS1 pump and bucket but I changed the pump to a Walbro 255 pump.

ZR2RICK

I know it's a late in the thread but from what I know is S10 A Arms interchange with G-Body stuff like 78 - 83 Malibus Montes Regals however the interesting thing is the G Body's frames are narrower by a significant amount - how much not sure.

My son has a G Body and we are about to try and put S-10 drop spindles so I`ll let you know..

On the HAMB site there was a thread on how to section and lower your A Arms the way they used to do it in the fifty`s. The guy did a nice job on the thread and work was top notch to. Interesting how how hot rodding goes full circle

Re: The beginning, my 57 LS powered streetrod

Thanks Tri5Nerd, I'll look into that pump, does anyone know if the Silverado /Tahoe pumps measure the same as the Ls1's? Thanks 50/seven for the clip input, I'm still measuring and head scratchin on my front clip width issue but will most likely narrow the clip, as I have the Nova clip rebuilt already, I just need to figure if I'll have to cut the tunnel for engine clearance or possibly cut the motor mounts into the crossmember to keep the engine height where it is.

On the pumps - Have you checked the part #s against each other?
Also - see if you can cruise some of the newer truck forums and see what kind of HP people are getting on stock fuel systems. All the LS motors run a similar fuel pressure and I'd be shocked if any OEM pump on an LS car / truck was insufficient to feed any other LS engine - up to 400+ HP

Re: The beginning, my 57 LS powered streetrod

Been a while, I'm newly retired (after 35 years)and adjusting to a different life routine, anyway this truck has sat too long so here we go again, still working on the details of narrowing the nova clip, but got a late model GM fuel pump assembly mounted in the 69 mustang tank Iv'e removed all but the 3 longest leaves and have 4" blocks installed and plan on air over leaf bag mounts (homemade)? ,and now I need to build a notch to lower the rear several inches, so what do you bagged 55-59 guys got that can save me a few grey hairs? bag size, notch depth, design, ect.....

Re: The beginning, my 57 LS powered streetrod

Thanks, feels great to be back at it, got my bed set back on today so I could get the bedsides cut and picked up a pair of trailer fenders for the mini tubs, ( got a new Henrob torch I'm dying to try out!) waiting on the 2" rear wheel spacers, next I will need to figure out ride height so I can start on the step notches, have the front set with 3" between the cross member and floor, but not sure about the back though? also kicking around the idea of either ladder bars or a 4 point w/bags in back ??

Why do you need wheel spacers?

wheels and tires are to narrow for the rear end I have, may end up with a wider unit down the road.
