Re: Let's See Your Garage / Workshop !!!

@ridgeracecars... i'm thinking about getting a structure similar to yours.

i found a great deal on a 48'x48' steel building. also a 30'x90'

what do you wish you did differently with your structure? how many cars can you get in there and still be functioning? could you fit 2 lifts and still be functional? how about room for an over head crane?

I'm thinking 30x90 is the hot ticket because i can take a 20x30 space and make it into body paint wood working shop and not get the rest of the space dirty and dusty... and that would leave me 70x30 for for the mancave.

i have similar ideas in mind... garage bar, man cave, hot rod shop, cigar lounge and weekend party, family get together space...

Only one thing have a seperate room for grinding,Welding and Painting,You will be happy with that size.....It's never big enough!!!!!!
After i finished building it i had a party with a live local band in it,150 people "rocked all night long" was @#$% Blast...................

thanks... thats why i am leaning to a 90x30... that will give me ability to have a dirty dusty enclosed area for sanding paint or what have you....

i am also thinking about a central vacuum system with multiple ports and of coarse plenty of quick conects for air hoses/tools.

Do you wish it would have been wider?

Here's a few pics of my current project. Once it's all closed up, the wall between the old garage and the new addition will be knocked down so it will be one wide open space

I see your name is fitting^ Nice collection!

I put this "Speaker Grille" together over the weekend. Don't worry, no grilles were harmed in the making of this speaker.

Re: Let's See Your Garage / Workshop !!!

The best pictures I have right now of my shop. Its a 40x30. The front part of the shop you see in the pictures is 30x30 and is insulated on a concrete floor and a propane thirsty overhead heater. The back 10x30 is unfinished with dirt floor but being used for storage right now. Its not organized storage as I have no shelves or anything at this time, but once my buddy moves back and gets all his stuff out I want to install shelves and a rack system so I can start organizing parts. Also want to install a loft to utilize the space up top. Its nice to have the shop but I would love it to be bigger. Eventually I want to add on to this or build a completely separate building that's 60x60. Future plans regardless is better organization, a lift, and more lights. For comparison the truck in the first picture is a 99 GMC with 9"s of lift on 35s.

Re: Let's See Your Garage / Workshop !!!

A couple of years ago, I built my own and did 85% of the work by myself. It made the project possible (read: affordable). I posted an online album of it here:
https://www.facebook.com/KevinShorte...4002807&type=3

I LOVE IT!

My Garage Mahal and new deck

(There's a workbench here now, too.)

I even had to put one of these genuine 1960s surplus Fallout Shelter signs up.
