Re: 67 (Crew Cab) C30

There was (mouse nest) insulation all across the front on the roof seam.
At first I though mice?
It was neatly placed all the way across the front channel.
So this is what the factory done to hold the cab light wire in place and protect it.
Because some of it was still bonded to the wiring harness.

Pass. side sunvisor reinforcement is there
so A visor could be added.
Because this truck didn't come out with one.
This is the last terminal on the cab light harness.

My next step is a (Frame) jig for the floor-pans.
I need to drill holes in that frame then level it.

I am in the process of making a Platform for the cab.
When I complete it I will take Pictures.
This platform is to build the cab.
I am making this platform using 8" I beam for my base.
I will have stands for the different measurements with
the floor-pan braces that it will take to make the
differences in the mounting points in my Floor-pan.
This is how I will transfer the floor-pan to my frame
and cab mount locations.

Re: 67 (Crew Cab) C30

That’s one hell of a platform! I like it. You could also use it to do any frame work needed.

Re: 67 (Crew Cab) C30

Progress report.
After All the Holiday party's
I am Glad to spend time with the family
I just wish they liked Trucks like I do.

I cut Circle's out of a sheet of steel
I welded those to the top and bottom of a piece of pipe
to make some stands for leveling the floor pan.
Name: s1.JPG
Views: 731
Size: 40.5 KB

Name: s2.JPG
Views: 731
Size: 41.5 KB
I didn't take a Picture of the pipe before I started cutting

This pipe that I used was the pipe that was my basketball pole
when I was young.
Yea I saved it that long.
Name: s3.JPG
Views: 737
Size: 39.8 KB

Name: s4.JPG
Views: 722

I turned these on the lathe.
Then put them on the mill to get them close to size.
Name: s51.JPG
Views: 723
Size: 37.0 KB
I then had them Precision ground
to the (height) +/- frame mounts / jig frame.
These are the test fixtures.

These will be used on my platform.

Re: 67 (Crew Cab) C30

Then the Next step is the
Solid stands I have machined in the 3rd and 4th picture.
I will get the floor-pans leveled with the pipe stands
in the 1st and 2nd picture below.
Then I will know the Difference between the
front and Rear stand measurements.

Name: s7.jpg

are on stand -By for now

Once I get the floor-pans level.
I will know the measurement to grind these stands
in the pictures below.
