Re: 8 lug wheels - what's on YOUR truck?

Mine use to have 16.5 split rims, so I had to get rid of those. lol the only problem with the new hd wheels is the lug nuts you need to buy, EXPENSIVE!

Are those the 9/16" lugs so you can use the center caps?Where did you get them?

Re: 8 lug wheels - what's on YOUR truck?

Well idk if this is uncommon or not, but my truck has a Corp 14 with 9/16 wheel studs and the front is 1/2. Any info on that would be nice. But to answer your question the lug nuts are dorman pn 611-161 for the rear and 611-222 for the front. The caps fit ok, the fronts are a little loose so maybe a different pn would work better but this is what I found. I got them from carquest. I hope this helps someone.

Re: 8 lug wheels - what's on YOUR truck?

i ended up going with stock steel 88-98's, with the chevy caps. problem is figuring out how to get the caps on the rear... they don't clear the center hub on my 3/4 ton leaf reared truck. doesn't appear to be enough meat on the center cap to hog it out to clear the hub. anybody seen any spacers to go between the cap and the rim? i dont' want to space the wheel outward, taking it off the 4 load bearing points on the center edge of the rim opening. (did that make sense?) lol

Re: 8 lug wheels - what's on YOUR truck?

rupdog I run the same wheels and all I did was to run the original lug nuts on first, then the outside thread lugnut on, then there is room for the rear cap and black lug covers to screw on

CG, I came across this pic last week... from another post (was showing my brother, he was envious of your truck). I really like your truck... very nice. Looks great with the wheel/tire combo, this is exactly what I'm looking to do (wheel/tire setup) to my burb. Very nice truck!

Re: 8 lug wheels - what's on YOUR truck?

I saw that "Wheel Vintiques" makes 16" from 6 to 10 inches in width and different offsets. Looks like a brand new product for them. $90 each it looks like. They make them for Fords and Chevys and as I recall, they were originally different so not sure if the have two versions.

Re: 8 lug wheels - what's on YOUR truck?

I really like the steel 8 lugs from wheel vintiques...

I would like to replace the ones on the truck currently...

Someone on this board said that the current wheels I have are rare. What are they called and can I make a buck selling them?

Re: 8 lug wheels - what's on YOUR truck?

Anybody have pics of a 16" rally wheel (silver with chrome trim)on a k20? I've gone thru hundreds of pages with no luck. Trying to find a rally to have 35" KO all terrains mounted on to match my 4" lift.

Re: 8 lug wheels - what's on YOUR truck?

This is for Ohio Dan or anyone else who might know.
I was going back through old 8 lug wheel posts as I found the same stock silver 8 lug steel wheels local.
Will the new style center caps clear the big center axle housing on the 8 lug Dana 60?
They stick out pretty far is why I ask.
I thought it was answered before but I can't seem to find it.
Thanks for any help anyone can give.

I think you have to use the dooly center caps to clear the long hubs on the rear Dana 60.

As long as I am here, this is my choice for wheels:

Re: how to make 8 lug new chevy wheels fit on a c 20

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I put a set of these on my 70 GMC. Had to put a 1 1/4" spacer on the rear so the centers would fit my Dana 60 hubs. Makes the rear wheels as far apart as the front wheels now. Looks good.
Attached Images

Didn't know about the dually center caps. Might have to check into that.
