Of course, I want get this low but I would like to know what kind of ride I can expect with the PB mild front and rear dropmembers (on bags). I have a low mile 5.3L (2008) and 4L70E I plan to drop-in soon. I'm looking to DD this ride until the wheels fall off (20x8.5 front and 20x10 rear). I look forward to feedback.

The ride quality of the Dropmember has had nothing but great reviews. I could tell you it rides amazing... but then I am the guy selling the parts, and what else am I going to say?

There are several board members running the Dropmembers and if you look through some of the threads regarding feedback on ride quality and handeling you will be able to firshand all the positive feedback.

The mild rear is essentially the same kit as the extreme rear that is installed in the orange truck, the only difference is that the notch is a few inches shorter. The ride quality of these two kits is the same. With the sleeved bags mounted outboard of the frame and off the rear of the axle, it doesn't get much better.

The Mild and Touring front have a different geometry than the Extreme version installed in the orange truck but yield a similar ride quality. It is a little hard to explain in words, but the most common response we get is that "it rides better than my new truck" and of course we all know it looks so much cooler!

A few members that actively participate on the forum, and have logged thousands of miles on our kits, that I am sure would be happy to give you feedback, are Dino, N2Billett, Delmo, and Mason... and I am pretty sure Lolife99 went for a pretty fun ride in one of our Dropmember Equipped trucks. He can give you his opinion as well.

Re: Porterbuilt Dropmember

I've logged-in to posts on this form a few members listed in the thread, which is what motivated me to roll my 1967 C-10 lowered and on bag. Thanks for the response PB and those members who have posted enlightening threads.

LOL

The orange truck was built by a new shop... you can find them on Facebook under The Restomod Store. Super clean truck, and of course, running all our stuff.

I am getting ready to put a truck together for myself, but need to get a few other irons out of my fire before I can feel good about spending time on my own project.

The first one will be a 70 C10 that I am going to put together and drive until it sells... which means I probably won't even get to enjoy it much.... but it's all for a good cause.... to fund my 57 pickup I have had since high school.

The older 50's trucks are really starting to grow on me! I love that red GMC you posted pics of... Do you have any pics of your 57 you could share with us in its current state?

I will post some pics of it when I get a chance. Unfortunately, there isn't a whole lot left as I robbed some of the sheetmetal for a 55 we built about 10 years ago... I have been collecting replacement parts.

Re: Porterbuilt Dropmember

I for one, hate my DropMember! It just keeps costing me money. First it was the front, the it was the rear, then I had to have an AccuAir management system and then the body drop. Buying a DM is an addiction but oh so worth it.

I would agree. It started with 1 dropmember and then goes all haywire from there. Then when you think you have the addiction under control you find another good deal and do it all over!!!

It has Bill Mitchell arms and a pancaked crossmember. Not sure if the crossmember Is Bill Mitchell or not. Plans are after I finish my 72 and my wife's it needs a porterbuilt makeover.
