Re: Project: 1967 C10 Small Window
Right now I've been working on taking the cab down to metal and getting it primed. Tonight I finished up bringing the top to metal and I've sprayed epoxy primer which will be followed up with the high-build primer tomorrow. I'm cleaning up all of the area around the firewall and plan on shooting color on the firewall in the near future so that the eng/trans can go in. CANT WAIT. The only part that I'm not really looking forward to is cleaning up around the inside of the dash and what not but I'm thinking I'll mask off the rest of the chassis and sandblast the areas I can't reach with a DA sander...which works great by the way!
Also, and suggestions and tips on the best ways to bring it to metal? Haha I'll try and put some up tomorrow! Yea she's gonna scream Last edited by David67; 03-01-2011 at 12:49 AM. |

We use airplane stripper and a razor blade, sounds like a lot of work but it does make it quick. Put it on with a paintbrush, let it sit for 20 minutes then use the blade on it. Repeat as necessary.

Re: Project: 1967 C10 Small Window
haha tons ! thanks! Yea I forgot to mention I welded up 9 unneeded holes in the firewall to clean it up a little. I need to get everything out of the bed and take it off so that I can tilt the cab back in order to get a better angle for painting the firewall.

Re: Project: 1967 C10 Small Window
ooo thats awesome. Those are some sweet rides. What year are you? I have to get it done by this year because its my senior year. I'm not too far from the school so if it was just drivable but not quite legal...I could take all the back roads and if I were to get stopped.....I would think I could talk my way out of it
