Re: Show me your ratty hot rods!!!!

Not really going for the rat rod look, but just haven't found the time to finish. It came with a wore out 307/ 3 on the tree. I replaced the motor and tranny with a rebuilt 283 and turbo 350 and swapped to a 67 auto column. I upgraded to six lug discs up forn with 1" dropped spindles and cut 1/2 a coil. The rears are 4" dropped springs. I am working on getting the interior into shape now and then I will start on the exterior body work. Mechanically it is solid. All of the electrical was in excellent condotion no hacked up wires under the hood or under the dash. I found a stock stepside rear bumper and widended it to fit snugg on the rear. It still needs a little work to finish....

actually, I didn't do that one, the PO did... as soon as I start to care enough though, I plan on swapping all 4 out for some of the HID lights

Re: Show me your ratty hot rods!!!!

I wanna flame mine like that but can't seem to find one of those old projectors like we had in school .......you know the ones the teach wrote on with a grease pencil??? yea if you can find one you can flame ...borrow a pic from the internet drop it on the projector place projector on the shop floor and move it till it fits your truck......wa la!
instent flames just follow the lines with pin stripe material.......I was thinking of doing it in chalk first drive it for a few days and see how you like it then wash and apply new flames......it would drive your freinds nut and would take about 15 min...lmao

maybe we need a post on that.........sorry

Re: Show me your ratty hot rods!!!!

I usually just use a fine line striping tape for my flames, these ones are pinstriping tape from the parts store, alot harder to use than masking.
