Re: Reproduction Rubber Floor Mat

i went to check my nos and repo mat this what i have found. 3865525 was in a gm box listed as a mat 3865525. that matched the mat number . the other mat i bought appx 11 years ago 41004921 it was from a truck parts dealer . maybe the sent me a nos instead of a repo? here are the pics

Re: Reproduction Rubber Floor Mat

I would say the top one is a repop just because of the cracking in it.

Re: Reproduction Rubber Floor Mat

looks like they were made by the same mfg. the 4921 at the end is the same as yours . the cracking is not cracking it is extra rubber been that way from new weird? might have been a mold/stamp problem. looks just like the nos but with cracks? it is the mat mystery?

I'll have to look at the repop one in my truck when I unmask it, it has a stamping as well and looks like your top one.

Re: Reproduction Rubber Floor Mat

I have had two brand new GM 64-66 low hump mats in my lifetime and the first was bought by me in high school from the Chevrolet dealer in hometown back in the middle 70's and had the factory part number molded on it. I remember it well as it came in no box and the dealer had it on the shelf folded square and with a GM parts shipping sticker on it. I stored it for years thinking I would restore Dad's 66 someday and later installed it in a restored 66 truck I finally built in the late 90's. Last one I bought was off eBay 4 years ago and it has the factory part number 3865525 molded in the center at the rear of the hump just like Yelmer has pictured. If I didn't have it so well rolled up and stored in the storm shelter I would take a picture. I feel all the original GM parts department mats would have the GM part number molded and as said above and the mold vendor may have made their own line of JC Whitney mats after GM quit ordering their resupply.
Maybe Powerbrake guy could make that part number piece in rubber like his power brake pad section and glue it to the mat if you wanted numbers matching. Another thought is it might be possible to carve out of a ripped up original mat and rubber glued into place too.

Re: Reproduction Rubber Floor Mat

We have sold a few and so far everyone seems to be happy with them. I cracked open a box, smelled like rubber. Between the floor mat and the new bedsides the manufacture is starting to answer customer wishes for a higher quality part.

I'll get pics of all my mats this weekend, but I do believe original factory mats all have cast numbers. Perhaps not logos. Below is a pic of a '62 low hump marked rear center of hump.

Re: Reproduction Rubber Floor Mat

The OEM GM mats appear to still have been molded with the GM period correct truck 7 digit production # and of the same grouping format i.e. starting with 3xxxxxx or parts replacement numbers on the genuine GM parts. I remember years ago trying to order a part using the old production # off the assembly line installed part to order at the parts counter and being told that the production # was most likely never an orderable GM parts counter code #.

Re: Reproduction Rubber Floor Mat

In am effort to help set the record straight on factory floor mats. I've researched many original trucks and parts books and compiled a part number list. ALL Chevrolet and GMC original matts will have a 7 digit part number only molded into the mat. The 8 digit numbers I've seen listed in this thread are aftermarket floor matts. Many aftermarket companies copied or supplied GM with their matts. I have several mats in aftermarket boxes, the GM part numbers are readable but before they went in these boxes the part numbers were ground off or partially ground off.

1960 Chevy trucks had a one year only pattern but was used in 1960 and 1961 "N Series" GMCs Part number 3773705 for Hi Hump and 3766883 low hump.
1961 The matts received the same pattern used through 1966 but differed in the cut for the different 60-62 floor humps although some of these numbers cross from 1962 to 1963. I tried my best to find numbers that were actually used in each year truck rather than what " would fit" or interchange to a given truck. The parts book lists 1961-1962 mats as the "Second Design for 1960. That does not mean trucks produced in 1960 got a 1961 mat , simply it was a "replacement" .
1961 1962 low hump is 3782307
1961 1962 Hi Hump is 3778943
1963 1964 Hi Hump 3822803
1962 1963 Low hump is 3822765
1964 1965 early low hump 3838981
1965 1966 low hump 3865525
1965 1966 Hi hump 3865527

Through at least 1963 GMCs used Chevy mats. Somewhere around 1963-1964 GMC went to its own floor mat and GMC part numbers because of the fawn painted mat.
GMCs are still a bit of a mystery as far as reading and totally understanding the language of the parts book .
I've confirmed these numbers as :

1965 1966 Hi Hump 2440066 GMC
1965 1966 Low hump 2475935 GMC

If you have a 1960-1966 Chevy or GMC with a different part number mat and your certain its original to the truck please let me know. There's a bunch of other numbers but these that I've listed fit our 10-30 series trucks. Some could be different for a hand brake or 4x4 .

One thing these all have in common is, they all have one of these part numbers molded into them on the edge closest to the seat.

Exactly what I have seen and well said Jon. GM mats will have the 7 digit number only molded in the rear center of the mat and starting with 3XXXXXX for 10-30 series trucks.

Yes , each and every one of them do including my NOS ones. That's how I came up with the list, then I crossreferenced those numbers in the Chevy and GMC parts books. Needed help on one or two. Can post pictures of each number and mat.

Re: Reproduction Rubber Floor Mat

A "factory floor mat" thread is in order to straighten this info out, but for now I'll add to the confusion here.
Most of these images/numbers jive with what 60-66 posted about his original mats, except I have a later '66 truck with a 64-65 mat in it, I guess.
Note the triangular logos on two mats. Those part numbers and logos are off to the passenger side of the hump. Both are 1966 Fremont trucks, one is absolutely the original mat to the truck.

Just test fit mine earlier today. Fits great. All the holes are where they're supposed to be, the edges are trimmed nicely, and the shape fits the hump very well.
