Re: Post Your Ride 67-72 Trucks

Here's a few pics of my '67. I've had it since I was 15, I'm the second owner bought from a local dealership, did all the work at my dad's place with lots of his help (and my taste, lol).

It's currently undergoing some changes over the next month or so, 2" cowl hood, lower stance (debating between going the full bore bagged set-up or just a 4/6 its about a 3/3.5 or so now) and some wider rubber under her rearend.

first off... it's your truck, do what you want. but if i were you, i think your truck is too classy to bag. i'd go with the static drop. and cowl hoods arent my thing, so i wont say anything about that. but thats a drop dead gorgeous truck. good work man

jugadro...Don't get me wrong I know black is A pain to keep clean but that truck looks awsome. I might repaint it if needed but I would go black again. We all get bored sometimes but it just looks to damn good to me ...Just my two cents.''I WISH IT WAS MINE''.........

I agree, and full-trim trucks look dang great w/solid paint. Most were two-tone.With 2-tone the side trim becomes paint dividers. With solid the trim really stands out,add $.08,you`ll have a dime.

Re: Post Your Ride 67-72 Trucks

special-K....I agree with the full trim package especially with black. When I was 18 in 1978 my dad had A 1969 gmc long bed black with the full trim he bought it new -454 th400. He my brothers and myself turned it into the baddest pro-street ride in the county at the time .We made custom home made four link, tubs, narrowed rear end, dual medium high rise art carr trans wide mickeys the works. And at first glance it looked kind of basic but this thing would really hook-up, And lets face it it takes some doin and experience to make this happen and keep up with the cars. Any way I know Im ramblin but let me make my point. The truck was promised to me by my dad. So one day I come home from school and the trucks not in the driveway and my old man is in the house. He sold it with out even tellin me, I cryed no **** on and off for days. It had quite an effect on me for years and let me tell ya I made sure he regretted it. I didnt have enough money to buy A cherry truck so I just kept collecting semi finished trucks here and there some times having upwards of nine or ten of em I DROVE HIS A$$ CRAZY And to this day he knows I've still got the bug bad and no end in sight ....Thanks for listenin I had to tell someone sorry for the length......

Yeah, I know how you feel. I kinda have a similar situation- My Dad bought a 1971 Chevelle when he was in high school. Brand new, right off the lot, saved for years, paid cash. Well, then I was born and he had to get rid of it.
Needless to say, I have been looking for just the right one, for I have vowed to buy my Dad another Chevelle someday.

68 K10 named "Greeny" because she spent her younger years in Canada as a Forest Service Vehicle. Originally a sickly pea green, replaced the original 307 with newer 350. Never been stranded thanks to factory Konig PTO winch assemblly. Except for the engine and back bumper she looks pretty much like she did in 1975 when I bought her. Fun makover 3 years and still counting.

Here is my little project. I got it in Oct. 98 and I took it apart when I thought I had the money. That changed after renting a space to work on it.

Re: Post Your Ride 67-72 Trucks

Here is one of my trucks. A 68 chev 1Ton. This truck only had 63000 miles when I got it from stllookn 4 years ago. It had a chassis mounted camper on it. The engine is a 327 w/2bbl carb, 4speed transmission and 5.13 rear end.
Since I have had it I repainted the cab, installed a 12 foot flatbed with a dump and just this weekend some Weld aluminum wheels.
