Re: Project : JACK LALANNE
For the headlight upgrade read this http://www.madelectrical.com/electri...adlights.shtml
Since you have a GMC, you will have 2 sets of green (high beam) wires coming out of the fire wall, then those 2 split into 4 so, cut BEFORE the 4 wire split. When you are done, the dimmer switch will only see less than .5 amps. That is a big drop from 20 or so. The headlights will pull power directly from the battery/alt. Your 30 year old wires will thank you. Make sure you replace the fuse with a breaker, so if there is an overload problem, the breaker will reset and you can use the low beams to get home.

Re: Project : JACK LALANNE UPDATE 8/2011!!! L@@K
Hey guys, I've missed you all. Life has been absolutely crazy...... But I Still Have Jack , and a ton of work has been done.
Between the career change, the deaths in the family, fighting the diabetes, and getting married..... The truck has been delayed a bit. HOWEVER IT IS NOW DONE!!! I feel bad I didnt update during the progress, so here is the deal. I will post pics of the body work before it was finished.... as teaser pics, and will post the final pictures of it done in a few weeks when I pick it up from the indoor storage. List of what was done Both outer rockers, Minor dent in cab where bed hit it. machine sanded, primered in bare spots new mirrors new shocks new clutch and most of all, NEW PAINT!!! Here are the pics, i'll post more in a few weeks. Missed you guys! Hope all is well!!!! For my first real project i dont think my body work is too bad? |

Re: Project : JACK LALANNE
Have you tried interstate for the bumper? They sell some aftermarket ones that should work.

Re: Project : JACK LALANNE
Look up certifit.com they have a few bumpers that should work for your truck . Certifit and Interstate are the same company by the way.

Re: Project : JACK LALANNE
I got my stereo in today. It's just a mount that I made out of some scrap. I know it's crude but I don't want to tear up my dash. And in the glove box wasnt working to well.
