Re: '67-'72 Power Brake Booster Bracket With Hydraulic Clutch Conversion
Just sharing. Love these kits!! Bought my second kit from capatinFab. I have 2 trucks both 4 speed manuals. Used his kit on both my trucks. Just installed one on my 1972 Chevrolet K10 today. Here some some pictures of the kit on my 1970 C10
One last picture of what I'm doing on my K10

Re: '67-'72 Power Brake Booster Bracket With Hydraulic Clutch Conversion
Hi hinz28-
Thanks for posting the clear pics of your install. John just shipped me a kit on Fri. What is the fitting size on the Willwood master? 1/8 NPT? 4AN? I'm doing a set up with a NV3500, which has the GM quick disconnect fitting on the internal slave. I'm having a tough time finding a generic hose with the GM quick disconnect on one end with either 1/8 NPT or 4AN on the other end. Any suggestion for a reasonably priced generic hose which would connect the clutch master to the GM fitting internal slave? All the aftermarket hoses which have a GM quick connect on the slave end, have the GM roll pin fitting on the MC end. Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: '67-'72 Power Brake Booster Bracket With Hydraulic Clutch Conversion
great kit! I made my own and will be changing out for your better design. I have two trucks, both running 4wd and NV4500 conversion kits. These have external slave cylinders not hydraulic TO bearing. what would you recommend to use for a clutch MC with the GM OE (GM #15615868) used on 85-91 GM truck, or if there is a suggestion for a better option for slave? Interested in buying for two trucks, one (72 k20) will just need the plate for the brake booster, the other is a 68 Suburban where I will be needing the whole shebang, new brake booster / MC and clutch kit. Will send an email directly.

Re: '67-'72 Power Brake Booster Bracket With Hydraulic Clutch Conversion
On the willwood master I am using a 3/8 to -3an adapter. Then running a -3an line to the slave.

Re: '67-'72 Power Brake Booster Bracket With Hydraulic Clutch Conversion
Would I be able to buy one for an nv3500 I know they are not the greatest trannys but its what I have. And would I be able to use my 71 booster or would it just be easier to get an older style booster?
Contrary to my name I actually own a 1971 c10 |

Hi 68Cervd- this summer I put a NV 3500 out of a 2006 4.3 Silverado into my 69 blazer and it is one of the best things I've done to the truck. It takes some fiddling around with things like transmission brackets, flywheels / pressure plates and figuring out how to get the mechanical speedometer to work with the VSS on the transmission. But the good thing is that with the NV3500, your shifter ends up in the right place for either a bench or buckets with the center console. Be aware that there are some differences between the 2006 NW3500, and the NV3500s they put in the old S10's. Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: '67-'72 Power Brake Booster Bracket With Hydraulic Clutch Conversion
The only difference in what I make and sell for a hydraulic clutch conversion is the clutch master. I simply provide you with the correct clutch master for the NV3500. The '71 & '72 boosters are not exactly compatible with any of my booster brackets. To use it, you would have to elongate the booster holes in the booster bracket. Or you could replace it with one of the many, many compatible boosters from the list. You do not want an older style booster. You need a newer one.

Do you have a thread started on how you swapped the transmission into your blazer and did you make your own cross member or did you purchase one? |

Re: '67-'72 Power Brake Booster Bracket With Hydraulic Clutch Conversion
No I don't have a thread, but it wasn't too difficult. Actually one of the trickiest things is installing Captain Fabs remote clutch Reservoir. I bought a cross member from Summit, and kind of guessed on the dimensions which weren't very good so I had to modify that. If you have an old style SBC, I can give you the part numbers for the pressure plate and flywheel.
What year is your NV3500? And did you have a stick in there before? Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: '67-'72 Power Brake Booster Bracket With Hydraulic Clutch Conversion
Well I intend on using the same engine that came with the transmission but it is a 1991 chevy k1500 transmission and I did not have a stick in the truck before.

Re: '67-'72 Power Brake Booster Bracket With Hydraulic Clutch Conversion
The list of compatible boosters comes with every one of my booster brackets. That '91 K1500 is one of them. There is a partial list of compatible boosters in post #35 of this for sale thread. For a transmission crossmember all you need is an auto trans crossmember for a '66-'87 truck.
Quote:
A 4wd transmission will not work in a 2wd truck without completely tearing apart the trans and changing the output shaft and adding a tailshaft housing. You are going to have to add a clutch pedal assembly to your cab.

Re: '67-'72 Power Brake Booster Bracket With Hydraulic Clutch Conversion
I used -4 AN 36" AFCO hose (pn 40280) with a -3AN to -4 AN fitting, but could've used a few more inches of hose. The 36" hose worked, but just barely. Another 12" would give you more options to route the hose in a neater fashion.
For my 2006 NV3500 I used the stock slave clutch cylinder out of a 2006 Silverado 1500 4.3L, Rockauto part number 360128. Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: '67-'72 Power Brake Booster Bracket With Hydraulic Clutch Conversion
Did I send you a .700" bore clutch master with your kit? If so, does the clutch disengage enough?

Where would I be able to find a new tailshaft housing for my 4x4 nv3500 to make it a 2wd?

There should have been an extra e-clip in your hardware bag

Re: '67-'72 Power Brake Booster Bracket With Hydraulic Clutch Conversion
Glad I found this thread. I was scrolling down looking for a clutch pedal to convert a '69 cab to manual. The cab will be going on an '89 C30 with hydro boost brakes and external slave. I was already imagineering a way to get this mismatch to work. Seems you've already done that..
The '89 already has a new clutch master on it. Any way that would work with your kit ? Thanks

Re: '67-'72 Power Brake Booster Bracket With Hydraulic Clutch Conversion
Sorry for the delay in replying
All of my hydraulic clutch conversions are designed to run a Wilwood or similar clutch master. I do not think a '89 C30 clutch master is compatible. Quote:
