Re: Ol Blue
Not much to report. Took a trip down to Tucson. Check fuel economy and it was only about 16 MPH. I was pushing it a bit. Picked up some parts and hung out with family. A otherwise "none productive" weekend. Pic was on the way back we stopped in at Picacho Peak. Looking at it this is my first pic I have posted with the new mirrors.

Re: Ol Blue
Thanks. I10 is flat and we had no wind to impact the test. I want to take it down to my dad's house for a longer test and about 4000 feet above see level. Then we should see some different numbers.

Re: Ol Blue
I have been down in Tucson just about every weekend in February. Last weekend was Phoenix and this weekend might be hitting the renaissance festival out at Apache Junction.

Re: Ol Blue
Not much of a update. Parts are showing up and more will be getting done. With the heat on the way I wanted to get the A/C up and running. This should do the job!

Re: Ol Blue
Still waiting on some of the small parts to install the front runner kit. Worked on some of the small detail stuff that is just labor. Drivers side had some damage from what looks to have been from a tow chain.

Re: Ol Blue
Back when I cut off the old tow hitch I was a bit lazy and didn't cut all the old stuff off and needed to address this to install the new one.

Re: Ol Blue
That's a sweet fan setup. Is that a universal fan in a stock shroud?

Re: Ol Blue
Yea, give us more info on that fan swap. I want to get rid of my stock fan and go with an electric set up. I like the idea of utilizing the stock shroud. More info please........

Re: Ol Blue
I do think that will be on my list. I have a stock cover. I looked at some nice aftermarket units that will fit and it's not crazy hard to make up lines for it. I have some ideas of how I will vent the front unit. I know I will need the rear unit if anyone wants to ride out back and not bake.

Re: Ol Blue
Zellway. I'm loving the build. Nice work! I had questions about your Retrosound. I read your review on Crutchfield, thanks for posting the link! I have a Custom Autosound in a 1971 K5 and it is horrible. Constant whining, poor sound quality ect. And I do know it is the Stereo as I have redone all wiring, isolated wires, you name it, I've done it. I used to install sound systems and security systems in autos for a living. I also temporarily wired up an old Sony deck that sounded wonderful with no whining. So much better sound in fact that I didn't even know my system had bass, and with the old Sony deck (pull out type) it had highs and lows that were not there. Also I tried an Alternator made by Powermaster for 110 amps and better build quality. So, back to my question. Does your Retrosound deck have any alternator wine? Also wanted to ask if you have it hooked up to an amplifier. Currently I have my deck powered with an amp, with the kick panels 6 1/2" speakers and old Pioneer Truck boxes (TS-TRX800) in back. Also wondered if the Retrosound has a CD Changer control as I have the CD-10 in there as well. Anyways, I just wanted confirmation as to the Retrosound decks quality and some features as I am almost ready to cut the dash for a good stereo lol. Thanks for your time. keep up the great work and awesome thread!
