We purchased them from Ecklers. On one of the bottoms where the door skin folds over on the side was trimmed a little short, so I had to weld a piece on. Like most reproductions, you have to make them fit.

Re: 1970 Chevy C10 pickup

While I stripped down the driver side quarter panel, my old man did the body work on the passenger side quarter panel.

Re: 1970 Chevy C10 pickup

Over the past 2 weeks, we finished up the body work on the passenger side quarter panel and got it primed. The hood hinges were cleaned and painted.

YES! Finally! A member after my own heart!!!!

I use a combination of electrolysis and Evaporust soak. First the former, followed by the latter. Much more effective over the other alone.

A sand blaster would be more efficient and effective, but I have no room for one.

Sand blasting has its place, but on parts like hinges, latches and window cranks I like to use electrolysis. There is nothing worse than opening a hood or rolling up a window and hearing that gritty grind.

Looking good. I like how you let the Grand Dorito photo bomb the hinge pics. Keep the Ford pics to a minimum please. This is a GM site.

I apologize, maybe I'll get done with the Grand Dorito soon and replace it with some GM metal.

Re: 1970 Chevy C10 pickup

This weekend we finished up the floor and got it painted. I also cut bolts out of the bed so that we can get it ready to take off.

Re: 1970 Chevy C10 pickup

Today we built a frame for the bed of the truck to go on. After, we took the bed off.

6' long x 5' wide x 32" high. We bought eight 2x4x8 studs and had nothing left but a little saw dust. Found the 10" wheels at harbor freight for $4 a piece.

Dad, I hope these are the measurements that are correct after you made it 7 inches too long. We had to go back and cut off seven inches

Thank you. Gona do this. I will have to adjust the length for my long bed. Did you just bolt it down to the 2x4?
