Frankie's new parking buddy - our 4 door parts car from Nebraska/South Dakota.
Well, now we know where Chevy came up with "medium blue".

Re: Bride of Young Frankenstein - 1957 Buick Super
Hello everyone, it's Biz here. Update on the road, again. We are now headed up to Connecticut for the "other car."
Here's what we picked up in Montana. The hood is super straight and fenders have a couple of dings each, well worth the effort to get these fine parts. There was some good progress yesterday in taking it apart. (I've decided that the Star Wars smily is going to be my new sign off)

Re: Bride of Young Frankenstein - 1957 Buick Super
Good to see you back to work on another one, great choice on the platform, not many Buicks out there, and I'm guessing "none" with your special touch?
BTW, that 4dr HT looks like something I'd drive, what a great patina! Get to work, y'all, we're waiting

They're not as big as I had expected, I somehow had the idea they'd be 2-3 times as big as they are. Incredible job nonetheless, i guess years of TV and my imagination made them grow a bit in my mind.

Re: Bride of Young Frankenstein - 1957 Buick Super
Earlier my dad said that he thinks we have enough Buick parts to finish the car, and yet we are going to pick up the "other car" today. I'm actually surprised that no one has been interested in knowing what it is!

Buick Turbo V6 isn't modern enough. Keep thinking.

Re: Bride of Young Frankenstein - 1957 Buick Super
Torque tube rear axle/drive shaft assembly is out of the car, never to be put back in.
The rear axle doesn't have a normal driveshaft, but instead uses a torque tube filled with gear oil, which is notorious for leaking. That old technology has got to go! Also the gas tank has been removed.

Re: Bride of Young Frankenstein - 1957 Buick Super
You are all over it, but we aren't even concerning ourselves with the powertrain on this trip. The Bride will need both this car and a powertrain car. (Hint: what did we just pull out of the bride? It's a classic Hotroder's trick)
