Re: Project Old fishing truck
I made some good progress on the truck and just ave a few things left and it will be on the market i am really happy with my faux patina/some of it is real but enjoy let me know what you think of it (i know the doors and cab should be red oxide primer i just liked the way the black looked on the blue) how i achieved what i did is i sanded the blue with 1000 then i sprayed black single stage at a real low pressure (8psi) with the fan pattern on the gun turned all the way down and gave it pour overlap then buffed it out with a super cutting compound until i kind of liked what i saw then stepped it up to #1 cutting compound then #2 with the #2 pad then #3 with the #3 pad i guess i could have taken better pictures i did not realize they where so bad and blurry

Re: Project Old fishing truck
Do you plan on only driving this on nice flat, smooth roads and only taking slow turns (to avoid body roll)? You basically have a ladder bar rear suspension, but the bars are mounted outboard and made of square tube with no torsional flex. As it is now, the axle can only travel freely if both sides are moving up/down the same amount, and anything other than that causes bind.
Maybe the long bars can let you get away with it, if there's little suspension travel. But it's still a lot of stress on those u-bolts.
