Re: 1964 Chevy c-10 build "Carla Marie"
Well I z'd the front 4" and the back 10". The back still has all of its bed mounts in the correct relation, just 10" too high. I will be moving the floor up 10" and redo the edge around the bed to bolt back onto the stock cross members. On the front I will have to make a new core support bracket off the frame to line back up in the new position.

Re: 1964 Chevy c-10 build "Carla Marie"
Got the front clip off the c60 and set it in place on my c10. Plan to graft the front of the c60 fenders to the rear of my c10's. The flares are a bit much, but I really like how tall the grill surround is. Haven't seen a 2 ton front end this low to the ground! Don't know if there will be much room for a bumper though..

you don't need a bumper, just smooth the bottom and call it good

Re: 1964 Chevy c-10 build "Carla Marie"
What a trip!!!! I never realized how different that grill opening is compared to the 1/2 ton. I think it looks cool.
You could also run a 12" wide wheel up front.

Re: 1964 Chevy c-10 build "Carla Marie"
It would take at least a 16" wide tire to fill in those flares
I have never seen one of our 1/2 tons with this treatment, so I figured what the hell. Judging by your guys reactions I think I might be onto something Hope to have more pics soon..

Re: 1964 Chevy c-10 build "Carla Marie"
WOW, I just realized that the wheel youre runnin' is a 20, too. It is DWARFED in that wheelwell. You could run a 24" and leave the truck on the ground and still make U-turns!!!!!!!!!!!

Mocked up the 63' grill I have and the embossed letters from the c60. Also, some pics of the guage cluster that came in the c60. Will be swapping this into the c10.. Does anyone know if this tach is the factory version?

Re: 1964 Chevy c-10 build "Carla Marie"
THanks for the good word guys!! Helps me keep on this thing. I ordered up all my control arm parts and air bags friday from suicide doors. (Ricky and James are some stand up guys, very helpful and very fair on prices!) Will get some pics up as soon as the parts come in.
After some more looking I'm going to just run a little push bar on the front, kinda like the bears run on their cars..

I think those might tuck on the frontend but it might ride a little rough.
Really though, that clip looks mean on your truck.

Re: 1964 Chevy c-10 build "Carla Marie"
What are those wheels? I know the make/year/brand but are they steel, aluminum?
Went I went from Aluminum wheels on my Jeep to steel man it make a HUGE difference in weight and stopping power so I figured I ask. As well you got me kinda thinking. |

Re: 1964 Chevy c-10 build "Carla Marie"
I always thought one of those front ends would look great on a pickup. Just never figured they would be that close of a match.
I love it. |

Re: 1964 Chevy c-10 build "Carla Marie"
Protrash..
What in the world is that thing!!? None of that for me. I don't even think the stock c60 would fit those 20"s fit these trucks pretty well. They are aluminum wheels. Still pretty heavy though. I think any and all 20"+ wheels have more mass than even a 15" steel wheel.
