Re: 94 Suburban to Crew Build: The 50/50 Turban
It looks really good. I actually thought about doing this to a square body, I was going to use a crew cab long bed, put a short bed on it, then add to the cab as needed, but i didn't end up getting the pickup i was going to do it to.

Re: 94 Suburban to Crew Build: The 50/50 Turban
Well, here's some pics, as promised.
Start off with a couple sanded down bondo shots: We're obviously don't do professional bodywork, so there's no way it's gonna be perfect, but we're gonna get it as good as we can. Next up, is connecting the top of the cabs. That's just a few shots of first tacks and grinding down. Also, here's a shot of the cab, with the giant dent cut out lol I'll get to that in a bit.

Re: 94 Suburban to Crew Build: The 50/50 Turban
The next set, is fixing the dent that was at the top of the cab.
This is the hole that was cut out where the dent was. And this is the patch panel, cut from the cab of our parts truck. Set tack weld holes in the hole on the cab Set in place with a few screws Welded in, and me doing some grinding lol Here's something extra. I replaced the horn, and here's why. Anybody ever seen a horn rust in half like this?

Re: 94 Suburban to Crew Build: The 50/50 Turban
My Son and I are learning a lot on this build. We have never done anything like this before but we plan on building a second one as soon as we finish this one and I think it will be much easier and we will know what not to do the second time around...Norm...

Re: 94 Suburban to Crew Build: The 50/50 Turban
Sorry I didn't ever reply to you, I only get to use a computer at work, and there are three of us that share one computer so it's hard to reply or see what people say on here. I don't have a build thread yet just because I haven't been able to work on her much. I have a thread introducing myself and telling a little about my truck though, if you want to check that out. Your guys' truck is looking great! I am so excited to see it done and rolling down the street. It's gonna look killer and knowing that it is unlike anything else is the best part. Thanks for posting the cool build.

Re: 94 Suburban to Crew Build: The 50/50 Turban
Thank you very much for the positive feedback. It's been a lot of work getting it to where it is now, and it's still going to be a lot of work to get it finished and on the road. We really appreciate the positive feedback.

Thank you. We've still got a long way to go. Hoping to have it together by the end of summer. May happen, may not. We'll just have to see.

Re: 94 Suburban to Crew Build: The 50/50 Turban
Well here's a uh..partial update.
Rolled the cab off of our parts truck. Cut up the cab, saved the back window and the dash/firewall, and the front 60/40. Cleaned out the front of the cab of the 4-door, and set the 60/40 in. Actually doesn't look too bad.

Re: 94 Suburban to Crew Build: The 50/50 Turban
Hope y'all like updates.....because, it's update time.
First off - new frame. After it was all said and done...we looked over the half-ton frame and made a decision that it wasn't big or strong enough - so we did the next best thing. Go bigger. And go bigger, means, big, beefy framerails. Big beefy framerails from a '54 Chevy commercial truck...1 1/2-ton or 2-ton, not quite sure. Here's some before pics...with the half-ton frame still there, but a comparison. After cutting off the half-ton frame New rails in place. Old frame is encased in the big frame. Now to give everyone a good idea of what this damn thing will look like.. And...goodies. First of all...new front clip. Actually...the '98 front clip, off of the parts truck we had. Next, new back doors. Off of I think a '96 Suburban. That means...newer style door panels.
