Re: How about some pics of 69-72 Blazers and Jimmys.

Believe it or not, I found it on eBay. For years, I figured that once I found my factory 2wd, I would have to travel to get it. I bid on several all over the country, and dealt with countless dead-end Craigslist bozos. Finally, this one showed up- 30 miles from home. I still can't believe I finally found one... And it is a Jimmy.

Here is the engine. I converted it to hei, and the yellow wires were just extras that I had. Once I detail the engine compartment, I will bring it back to as close to original as I can. My plans for this old truck is to keep it as stock as possible..... With the exception of lowering it and changing wheels & Tires.

Also it the spid label. Anybody know what the "custom sport truck" option means on the Jimmy's?

Re: How about some pics of 69-72 Blazers and Jimmys.

I sold a 71 GMC Jimmy about 5 years ago. My guess is less than the 1277 2 wd Chevy Blazer that were produced in 71. Gmc always had lower production runs that Chevy.

Hey Big Block- thanks for the info! I like the wheels- are those the ones that came originally on the 2wd's?

No, they are 8" Chevy/GMC truck rally wheels that were used on 73-87 trucks. The centers have GMC on them instead of the Chevy bowtie.

Re: How about some pics of 69-72 Blazers and Jimmys.

It has some cool options; positraction, door edge guards, manual throttle. Not sure why you need manual throttle with a auto trans. I don't know if you asked about CST? You got the deluxe scroll material front bucket seats instead of utility buckets. The deluxe seat backs are plastic and the utility backs were metal. You got deluxe door panels instead of the metal panels. This is on 71 not on 72. All 72 had plastic door panels. The deluxe panels have woodgrain and the outside trim was also woodgrain. The tailgate trim was woodgrain also. You got deluxe pedal trim. And the dash nobs were just black in the standard interior. I may have missed something but I'm sure someone will let you know what other opitions came with the CST.

bman021,

Nice work, I like the color, it gives me kinda of an idea of what mine would look like with a white top. what engine set-up?

Thanks!

I thought of painting the top white, but I didn't want a white top with the purple color. The truck was originally orange/white top. The top is kinda an eggshell grey color which will go with the grey interior I hope to get in it someday.

Motor is a GM ZZ383 with a polished holley stealth ram injection, and march serpentine setup. 700r4/np208

If you don’t mind my asking, how much did you get the 1971 2wd Blazer for?
