Re: Iced Green dream
Good stuff, looks all too familiar. Any thoughts as to where you'll be mounting the compressor, tank, solenoids, ecm?

I really have not decided yet but I am considering these 3 options. 1) Airpod from Air Ride Tech in the bed, or behind the seat (seems too pricey) 2) Ride pro set up behind the seat (still pricey but could swing it) 3) piece together my own system, mount tank along frame rails (cheapest) I like the ride pro system and I really want to do the ride height sensors and all. I am pretty sure I will end up with option 2, just because I have to work overtime to pay for my truck parts and I dont want to have to work myself to death to go with the airpod, eventhough it is only a few hundred more. I would like to hide all the air ride stuff too, just to go with the "sleeper" look. I need to get my cab mounted on the frame so I can start to lay everything out and plumb it all in, of course I have to buy it also.

Re: Iced Green dream
I just got back from the valley after picking up the other truck I managed to find. I brought home lots of parts to sell, and lots that Im keeping. I am going to be listing the truck for sale as soon as I figure out a price for it. I posted a thread on the WIW section earlier. I have attached a few photos for you all to see. The truck is a 72 SWB fleet side with leaf spring suspension. The price will include the frame, cab, bed, rear end and front suspension that was removed. It will also include the doors and hood. The truck was a 5 lug disc brake truck. The doors are in excellent shape and the cab has some minor rust issues. The passenger side bed panel will need to be replaced. This truck would be a great start for a project truck, and it has a clean title.
I should have some photos of the new goods I picked up soon. I have to organize my garage tommorrow and I will share with everyone when I am finished. Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend!

Re: Iced Green dream
just have a few pictures of some of the goods I picked up. The outer grill parts are not NOS or original stuff, but they will work fine. I am waiting for my fuel gauge which was back ordered then I will decide which gauge cluster I am going to use. I cant decide between the one No Limit sells or the one classic performance parts sells. I like them both. I also picked up new front and rear bumpers, side markers and parking lights.

Re: Iced Green dream
I finally got the cab from my donor truck put in place so I can begin my exhaust install. These are just some cell phone pics. I am taking my wheels to the powder coater this week as well as my core support. I am shooting for the exhaust to be finished by the end of April if all goes well. After the exhaust I need to finish my brake lines and run my fuel lines. Here is the pics.

Re: Iced Green dream
Hey there PipsC10,
The truck is moving along nicely. I was on craigslist today and saw this: http://sacramento.craigslist.org/pts/1124033100.html .I thought it might be what you were looking for. I checked no limits website but could not find a price without the gauges. Can't wait to see the truck with paint and wheels. |

Re: Iced Green dream
got the gauge panel and put my gauges in. If anyone is interested the guy still has a polished panel that he wants to sell. Thanks again Mr E for the heads up, it was just what I was looking for. I think I am going to paint the panel the color of the truck when I install it. Not %100 sure yet, but it will probably look better with the rest of the truck if I do.

Re: Iced Green dream
Could I ask a favor of you?
If you ever get the chance, I'm curious of the measurement from the bottom of the frame rail @ the C/L of each cab mount (F & R) to the ground air'd out w/the ART set-ups. I know heights will vary depending on overall rolling-stock diameter so the current wheel/tire size if possible too. If it's an inconvenience, don't worry about it.

Re: Iced Green dream
The gauge set up looks sweet. I'm glad you got what you were lookin' for. I like the idea to paint it the color of the truck. Leaving it the natural aluminum however, keeps it from getting too monotonous. What wiring harness did you go with that accommodates the new gauges? Will it also work say if you get a vintage air system?
