Re: '63 GMC Project

Thanks! I may be a little biased because I own one but I do think longbeds on this bodystyle look just as good as the shortbed. Shortbeds are almost too short.

Thanks! They are National 4000s I think, can't recall for sure since they've been sitting around for a while. I believe the size is 235/75/15, have to double check that also.

Re: '63 GMC Project

well the project is being scraped. I've sold off almost all of my stuff from it. I'm getting out of the Army at the end of the money, and trying to sell my house, so I need to the money.

I'm going to keep the cab so that i can work on it and practice my skills on it.

Re: '63 GMC Project

Thanks Pops!

I want to mount my alternator down low on the passenger side of the motor. Does anyone know of a mounting bracket or easy mod to do this?

Getting there. The engine is almost done and I made a "cool" battery box.

Re: '63 GMC Project

Thanks guys!

I may try out an Optima battery later and paint the case to look like a 6 pack of "beverages". Not sure though because I don't know if it would even be visible and 2 friends of mine have had bad luck with Optimas.

I don't think the cooler is air tight so the gasses should be able to escape around the top where the lid closes.

Dude it looks sic. I've only had good things with my Optimas. I still have the first style they made in my trucks now. Been over 7 years now.
