Re: My 82 shortbed
Watch the cab doesn't roll forward on you....it is very front heavy.

Re: My 82 shortbed
Yea at that point we were just messing with it and experimenting. after a little trial and error we figured it out.

Re: My 82 shortbed
Couldnt get it to balance on just the one chain from the two front bench seat bolts so went ahead and drilled a third hole up by were the tranny sits under the cab, that i will fill later. bolted another chain to the new whole and to the other chain and experimented again till i found a center of balance. Jacked the cab up then jacked the frame up and took of the one wheel so it would go over the legs of the lift. Lucky had the help of a few friends with this one. It worked pretty good if i do say so myself. tell me what you think?

Re: My 82 shortbed
Now as for the bed took it off and standed it up against the wall. Next day tried using my dads compressor and sandblasting but it just couldnt keep up and didnt have much pressure. Started calling around and found a place that had a peice that attached to the end of a 4000psi pressure cleaner and would spit the sand out with the water. planned a day and went and rented it for 40 for 24 hours. trying to keep the sand moving threw the line was a pain. and couldnt get wet till it got used so had to make sure it was covered up good. once i had got it figured out for the most part i started sandblasting a section. Not going to lie it worked quick and went to bare medal in a second but used up ALOT of sand in the process when it was working right And made a big mess everywere. Before you could even dry it off surface rust would begin to arise. So called that plan a failed attempt. i wish i would have took a pic of the peice to show you guys.

Re: My 82 shortbed
well after searching around i found a place not to far that would sandblast it for a decent price. Only thing was we had to bring it to them so borrowed a friends trailor and loaded my baby up along with the core support and fenderwells and it was off to the shop... oh and btw we couldnt get those caps off the rims so we needed to find a way... the tool i had was loose and those rims must have not came off in a very long time but luckly on the way to the sandblaster stopped by a wheel place and bought a new one and they even loosened them up for me.. and you cant tell in the pictures but yes we did strap it down.

Re: My 82 shortbed
Just fyi since you were asking about LS swap costs, there was a thread on here that kept a list of each of the expenses, I think it was Glock's build called "Fred".
