Thanks fellas, it felt good to have some of the cancer treated in this girl. She will get parked outside by the shed for the winter while I dig on the 68 GMC so progress will be slow for a while. Once the GMC sells it will free up some coin to make a dent in the long term list on this one.
Here is a rough idea of what I hope to focus on next:

New exhaust setup (still researching what kit to buy but I may just take it to a local shop)
New front tires
Restore / redo wood tape on all side trim and tailgate band
Find a set of tow hooks
Install new visors
Refresh or replace door panels
Replace all rubber gaskets for the top
Replace broken glass in top
Install bucket seat backs
Find a rear seat spare tire holder (the truck came with one from the factory, still has the holes in the floor board)

If this all goes to plan I will have everything complete with the exception of the remaining sheet metal work and interior finish work (seat covers, carpet, and rear vinyl panels).

And finally the top is back on. It took a little work to get everything to line up but we got it.

Thanks guys, I'm not gonna lie seeing the white top with the white wheels made me fall in love all over again. I hope to get the hickey roof rack installed over the winter and make a few small upgrades as parts come along but I'm pretty happy with the changes we have made so far.

Not sure which piece you are referring to? Are you talking about the piece right by the gas cap on the quarter panel? That’s from an old cb radio antenna. It will get removed and patched when I fix the balance of the rust on the truck

the vent just above the radio, the more I think about it I think the chrome maybe just comes off with time, Mine is like that and I was wondering if it was a standard thing, a yellow vent or parts from another truck? no biggie just into the details

Thanks for checking in! I appreciate the kind words. Let me know if you ever want to get together and cruise, there aren't many of us 67-72 guys up here in the mountains.

Re: 1972 GMC Jimmy PENNY

Tracked down this super hard to find part thanks to Joes Junk. Not much else on progress, just driving it as much as I can. I think new front tires are next on the list.

Very nice Jimmy.

What size are your steel rims, and what size tires did you go with?

Thanks,

Pat
