I had to cut this one with 800 because it had a repaint most likely 20 yrs ago so I had to cut it buff it and polish it. Usually I would just polish it.

Re: Cheap trick patina 70

Eric, What metal strips are you running with your bed boards? Can you share with us what they are and what lengths they come in? I have a similar project and I want to finish my 75 Dually in something similar.

Thanks in advance!

I went back and looked at the pics. I bought the ones in the pictures from Home depot. They are cheap but they are not strong and they tend to bend. So will be using the bedwood strips

Engine looks good. That's pretty much the combo I'm going with on mine: orange and satin black accessories. I like that you painted the heads as well. I've been on the fence about that as you don't see that nearly as often.

I know the motor will not look like a stock 67-72 engine but I have always liked the look of the heads being orange. The oil pan, accessories and intake will be black. I am going to paint the trans black too. The frame will be black. I want the truck to be easy to wipe down and clean and the satin black is east to care for

I went out of my way not to run anything edelbrock on my motor since I am running a Holley carb ( intake fuel pump). But I think it looks great the high ram looks right at home on an LS style motor.

Love the look Eric - my only gripe is the huge Edelbrock lettering. Unless they are a sponsor of some sort, I hate giving them that kind of exposure. I'd paint over it or machine it off, that would really add to the clean look you're going for. Sorry, just one of my pet peeves.
