Re: 1961 Chevy Apache My Beater
Update.
Jan 18 2020. Alt conversion. Gm 2 wire. I prefer the charging light in Stock gauge. If I ever loose the alt belt driving down the road the light will get my attention before I over heat the engine. Rule “Everything for a Reason”.

Looking good man! I try to drive my 63 whenever I'm going to get parts for it. It's more fun that way lol

Big window time. I will be modifying the small window inner panel like they did on project old school. https://www.hotrod.com/articles/cl-0...ngbed-install/

Re: 1961 Chevy Apache My Beater
More from today. Same process on pass side. Just cleaned metal on upper and lower inner panels above and below window and clamped and tacked. Very happy with it so far.
Corners are next.

Re: 1961 Chevy Apache My Beater
Now that’s fabrication, like it should be done.
Looking good. Suits the truck too, I like the front view through the cab.

Re: 1961 Chevy Apache My Beater
I can’t get over how BADASS the view is driving around. I told my buddy it’s like my girlfriend just got BIG fake tits!! Still need to do inner panel patches so back window is out. It’s in safari mode right now haha.

Took the truck to my buddy Jonathon. He is a sheetmetal madman. He made the patch panels for the corners.

So happy with the progress. At this point I had ground the welds with a 4” flapper disc.
