Re: HD relay conversion headlight harness available!

Head lights suck big time on my 99 Tahoe. I've done the relay thing in the past and makes a big difference. I prolly should read the post again, but only a couple sips into first coffee, but this does all 4 lights when the high are on correct? I'm gonna order new lights off evilbay, then want to get these...

Re: HD relay conversion headlight harness available!

Yes...my harnesses do include the 4-HI option. I see about 20% increase in light output with mine as measured with the increase of output voltage in the area of 1-1.5V @ the bulbs themselves.

Re: HD relay conversion headlight harness available!

What happened? Haven't heard from gmachinz in a while.

It's reminding me of another headlight harness vendor.

Hope he's ok.

Re: HD relay conversion headlight harness available!

lol-oh no I'm not going anywhere.....I've got a lot going on but I'm pretty much up to date besides a few backordered connectors I've been waiting on directly from Delphi. You're modified/updated headlights have been shipped out-check your inbox for some updates on the kit!

Re: HD relay conversion headlight harness available!

Hello-I have plug n play kits with 4-HI for $146 shipped. These plug into your existing heaight connectors on one side and you simply need to mount the relay bank, attach the ground lead and that's it. Includes heat resistant looming (rated @ 275F) and all wiring is j1128 rated for use under hood using GXL crosslink wiring. Relays are rated @ 250,000 switching cycles.

Re: HD relay conversion headlight harness available!

What is the difference between that one and the one in the first post ? Why is one cheaper?

Re: HD relay conversion headlight harness available!

The first one is a splice kit using your existing wiring-most people opt to NOT want to cut up their wiring so they easily unplug this kit if they decide can go back to stock-I build both tho

Re: HD relay conversion headlight harness available!

I hate to keep bothering you, but, on the splice in kit, if a relay goes bad can I just plug one of the original connectors on to get headlights? You know just to get home.

Re: HD relay conversion headlight harness available!

Well, on the splice kit there is a relay input and output so what I can do is provide a jumper lead to use in such an event. If you use the plug n play kit, you would simply unplug the connectors and swap them.

Re: HD relay conversion headlight harness available!

I am very happy with my plug and play kit.

The only minor problem was the ground eyelet was 5/16 and I needed a 3/8" eyelet to go to the 3/8-16x1 1/4" Allen screw I use for the battery bolt mod.

I was able to enlarge the hole with a Unibit.

Re: HD relay conversion headlight harness available!

I received my HD 4 Hi harness on Friday (3/11). Installed it on Saturday. All I can say is the quality of materials and workmanship is excellent. It took about 2 hours to install, I like everything hidden. At the same time I installed GE NightHawk bulbs. Everything works like it is supposed to. I would highly recommend both the harness and the bulbs. Very well pleased. Thanx, gmachinz
