thanks man, the notcher is a harbor frieght one, but its pretty decent quality.

Update 3/31/08
Well i re-did the tubing work, as i couldnt get the bag bolts out (guess i wasnt thinking). Anyways heres the new tube work, i like it better than the old tubing.....going to add a tube from the front tube to the back tube to finish the circle(hard to explain), and then adding a gusset to the mounts and calling it good? what do you all think??

Your progress is looking great! One question for you. On your rear bag mounts are you going to add any more bracing? What you have so far looks sweet but all three points are almost in the same plane and that will not give you alot of upward support. I would at least place a small piece ot tube from the top of frame right up to the front bar and this will help act as a lerverage point for the bag mount and apply the force to the drive shaft hoop. Ifyou already had plans for more braces then never mind my rambling

*Oop's* I posted this with out seeing their was a page 4!! I see that you changed the locations of the mount tubes, with the front one so close to the frame will it add much suport or is it solid as is?

Looks Sweet Justin!!! I am not sure how i missed your updates though. I think i might be going blind by all the welding i have been doing. Don't the frames look so sweet in raw steel form! I wish they would not rust so you could just leave them like that. The front and rear suspension looks great. I do agree with rocklin about some bracing for the bag mounts because all the weight of the truck pushes down on those mounts. One idea that i have is that you can bend a 90* piece of tubing on both sides of the frame and then have another piece connecting the two together and then have a piece pushing down on the bag mounts. That way when the bag inflates it pushes against eachother plus you can use this to support the front of the bed. Just make some mounts off that straight bar and there you go. Solves two problem at once. Here is a rough drawing of what i am talking about. Just an idea so no worries if you don't like it. I thought about doing something similiar for my other frame but without the bars going to the bag mounts for my other frame. One problem we have by doing a raised back half is supporting the front side of the bed because the new floor is has been raised alot. Anyways keep up the great work!

i agree with what abadsvt said, thats why i did mine the way i did.. but i think you will be alright. the tubing looks like it will be thick enough to hold. i could see it being a problem if the tubing was thin and you drive around like you have a monster truck

What is your defination of ride height? Some measure to the bottom of th frame while others measure to the rockers and a few people refer to the lowest point of the car or truck is the ride height.

From the bottom of the frame, my rockers/doors are level with the bottom of the frame.

No progress... been to busy...

the frame has about 1.5-2 inches more kickup to the front than a stock frame, will layout on a 28" tire (22" rim)

Fully understand. Today is the first day I have had off from work since Labor Day. Been working 10 hour days (yup even Sunday) and going to school 2 nights a week. Supposedly this is only for a few more weeks, but things change faster than I can keep up. At least when I have the time I should also have the money to do something cool! And now, back to sleep...
