engines for heavy duty trucks would have never been legal in a light duty (C/30 and less) due to smog regulations which were governed starting in 69 IIRC.

I wish there was a way to figure out all the different stuff that could have been ordered. I have an original 72 highlander with some unique options. I have always been told "theres no way it came like that" and as far as the dealer installed oddities go, I have been told "dealers did not install that". Nothing but dead ends for me, even with the order number.
