Re: Let me see your garage!!

Garage looks great TXC10. I LOVE that big dime !!! I put a pic of mine at the bottom -- its not nearly as nice as yours looks, but it'll be ok someday My garage is a 30 x 40 -- 12 pitch roof with a 800 sf loft on top. not pictured is a bedroom and a small weight room(150 sf) that takes up valuable garage space. Its totally self sufficient and i have lived there a couple of years -- (maybe a couple of more if the economy remains in the tank) Future plans include a house built next to the garage and separated by a breezeway, then the weightroom will be converted into a "clean room" (engine assembly room) and the upstairs will either be a theatre room (thats what the wife wants) or a motorsposts oriented "clubhouse" with all the metall signs, vintage posters, etc. , small wetbar, etc. Fixing up the garage is almost as much fun as working on trucks

Re: Let me see your garage!!
I am so jealous of some of you. This is what I get to work with.
Yep, thats gravel. Not the soft billowy kind, either. Jacking is easy since the ground is packed hard, but its a killer on the knees and back. I usually toss a 4x8 ply down if working a while. Ahh, the shed. When I first moved in, they told me I wasnt to use it. I told them that was a deal breaker, unless the like greasy tools in the spare bedroom. That white thing is the "burn box". We save up all the cardboard boxes from the summer to burn in a chimnea out back in the winter. How many truck parts can you spot? So yea, totally jealous of you guys with space. I have a plan for a garage in my future, but we rent here, so its likely not until we move. And I hate moving, so I may have to put up with it a while longer. |

Re: Let me see your garage!!
I waited 24 years before i could get my garage built. I started out with an open air garage and moved up from there. It's a 30X30x12 with 10' roll ups. This is the biggest that I could build due to county restrictions.
Move in day. I wish it was still this organized. Pretty recent pic of how it looks now.

Re: Let me see your garage!!
man all of you guys have some pretty awesome garages/shops. Y'all are really making me want to build a nice big shop of my own. I just passed it by the wife, and she laughed at me like I'm crazy hahhaha, said that I have other "honey-dos" to do before I get one of those. oh well all I have is a carport and a 10x8 shed, but hey I see alot of guys working with nothing but a concrete slab so we can work with it

Re: Let me see your garage!!
Well I am really lucky... my Dad owns a lot of heavy equipment and dumptrucks so I get pretty much free reign of a corner in this shop. It has three large doors like the on shown. One in front and two in the back. The sucker is long enough to fit a dumptruck with pup trailer and another truck in there. It's tall enough to fit the EX400's in there so... yeah big enough. Oh and my Dad is a mechanic by trade so he has pretty much any tool that I don't have or could possibly need. Plus there is the side overhang/drive through, coverage when there isn't room in the shop...

That's awesome! That's the garage I had in my minds eye when I built mine! Unfortunately I missed the mark, though. B |
