Re: SLOSH TUBZ..bolt in inner fenders for 67-72 chevys
Are these from a 'new' source or from the original group you've been working with?

Re: SLOSH TUBZ..bolt in inner fenders for 67-72 chevys
Any idea on the least amount of backspacing on a 8.5" rim?
Just trying to keep from having rubbing issue, on the outside edge. (maybe set up a criteria for purchase of these tubz) I'm interested in a set picked up, (not shipped). Price?

Re: SLOSH TUBZ..bolt in inner fenders for 67-72 chevys
i honestly dont have a clue..i know that sounds bad, but backspacing has always confused the heck out of me, i can take a pic laying on the ground and looking up to the inside of the outside edge of the fender, is that the area you are concerned with ?? the reason i made these with the hood chanel in is , one they work with my wheels and two i didnt want to cut that lip on the fender ! but if you want to run a differnet offset you can always cut out the fender and hood lip and move this hump in the pic over to the outside a little more

Re: SLOSH TUBZ..bolt in inner fenders for 67-72 chevys
Mike , this is the way I keep wheel width and backspacing seperate---the width of a wheel is measured inside the beads--in other words a 10" wide wheel is 10" between the beads but will measure almost 11" if U hook a tape on outside of beads!! Backspace is measured from BACK of hub surface to OUTSIDE of rear lip-I usually lay a straight edge across back of wheel and measure to back of hub for accurate figure for Backspace!!
I have to think ever time I order wheels lol......sent U a pm on tubes......jim |

Re: SLOSH TUBZ..bolt in inner fenders for 67-72 chevys
Your wheels have ALOT more backspacing than the normal off the shelf wheels.
(your wheels are the same as a 20x8.5 with a 6" BS, or a 20x8 with a 5.5" BS.) How close are you to the top of the tub at the step in the tub? Most wheels will be 3/4"-1" closer to the outer edge of the fender. Do you think there is room to move the wheels out?

Re: SLOSH TUBZ..bolt in inner fenders for 67-72 chevys
i will have to look at that tonight and see my guess would be exactly what you said 3/4 to 1 inch ...it will be close when fully dumped.

Re: SLOSH TUBZ..bolt in inner fenders for 67-72 chevys
Lolife99 and I have been discussing fitment and clearance's with the Slosh Tubz, i just got though talking to him and this is one of my thoughts. With so many different front end configurations out there ie..Dropmember, disc brakes, Zd frames, different off sets on wheels, different wheel sizes and different tire size.......My Slosh Tubz might not cover every issue and every different offset or tire size for eveyone , what they will do is offer a bolt in inner fender built out of a durable fiberglass that can be very easily modified if your truck has a certain area that needs tweaked to fit your specific needs. Now i know that noone wants to have to modify a brand new part that they have just purchased....but with all of the variables that are involved with a front suspension and the limited space for everything to clear ..(.like for me i wanted to not cut out the hood chanel) but someone with more outside offset might choose to remove the hood chanel there and bring that hump part of the tub all the way over , if that is something you need to do and you arent confident with your fiberglass working abilities, i can offer that as an additional cost (no extra profit just enough to cover the labor and materials) i will try to accomodate everyone in every way i can, just remember i am just a little guy trying to make a dream come to life !! so if there is anything i can do to help anyone just let me know !!

Re: SLOSH TUBZ..bolt in inner fenders for 67-72 chevys
I understand that it can't fit every possible scenario out there, but it looks to be a real good start and most may not have to modify them at all. I, on the other hand will probably have to cut them to pieces and re-glass them to fit in my engine bay since I went the opposite way of most everybody on this forum and grafted in a 1979 Camaro Z-28 front suspension (highly modified of course). I'm still not finished getting everything to fit the way I want it to, even without the inner fenders in the way, but when I am ready I will probably be ordering a set of these as it will be easier to modify these to fit than start from scratch like you did. Good job making your dream a reality.

Re: SLOSH TUBZ..bolt in inner fenders for 67-72 chevys
I looked through all my pics in my photobucket account and none of them show the engine compartment too good. I'll try to get you some this weekend if you want, but the main problems are that the frame is quite a bit wider than the original truck frame and my tires will probably come up into different spot (front to rear & side to side) than those of you with dropmembers.

Re: SLOSH TUBZ..bolt in inner fenders for 67-72 chevys
there is a ton of room all the way around the tire and wheel, even when turned lock to lock and mine are 20x9's...i bet you will have the room you need !
