Re: 1957 chevy family truck
I was pretty discouraged yesterday but today I'm ready to do what I gotta do to make it right I'll resand the problem peices (pass fender, spot behind pass door) I told the guy and the paint store "now I know why people patina there stuff alot easier less work less areas for mistakes" I thought the solid colors were easier

Re: 1957 chevy family truck
You'll get there.
I've been discouraged on mine plenty of times after screwing some little thing up and then having to redo it. The color looks good on it. kim |

Re: 1957 chevy family truck
that's an easy fix. Wet sand the panel with 800 grit to smooth it all out and shoot 2 more coats. The next coats will flow out like water! Keep going man, this is a fantastic build to watch

Re: 1957 chevy family truck
I would wait at least 24 hours before sanding the panel down. If you start sanding and it gums up in the paper, then wait another 12 hours or so. I would wet sand it with 800, wax and grease remover it, tack rag it, mask everything off and shoot it. I always start from top to bottom when spraying. I ended up sticking my coveralls to a wet door once and ended up having to repaint the entire door. I keep watching for progress on this truck man, it's such a great story and such a cool build. Keep us updated eh
