Thanks 68panelman. Notice the vin label on the steering column. This was a farm truck and it was never removed. I still have all the cattle racks for it also.

Bought new here in Edmonton. The granddaughter bought it for a dime. Excellent return on her investment. I'm glad to be the current caretaker.

Re: 67-72 Time Capsules

Agree w/sawyer, yes, works of art. After getting one of mine all detailed out on a nice sunny Saturday, there is nothing more enjoyable to me than to sit there w/a good cigar and a cold beer and simply admire. I never get tired of looking at them. Who needs van Gogh, Picasso or Rembrandt when you have a nice truck to look at?

Got this truck from Colorado with 27000 miles.
Now has 52000 and much cleaner than shown here.

Shorties are not my cup of tea, but the 3 trucks above are outstanding as far as "time capsules". Did the 3 above have names, too? Wow.....more pics, please!!!

LOL Usually I name them, but those remained name less, the black one was a factory big block truck, the green was "special order" from a little Ca. mountain town's airport and the "baby sh#t yellow" one came from a retired dentist. I'll look thru my archives for more pic's....

Re: 67-72 Time Capsules

My 67 is a bit of a time capsule, it has 18,000 original miles but they were all on gravel roads and working on a farm, parked in a barn since 71 until i bought it early 2015

Re: 67-72 Time Capsules

Ochre...not "baby poop yellow", although not the firts time I've heard anyone call it that. My personal favorite color on these trucks BTW (long or short). Ya better get on the stick and name 1966 Short Fleet pretty soon or she/he may wind up with an identity crisis which can manifest itself in any # of ways; mysterious electrical gremlins, leaks, refuse to start....on and on.

This is my Time Capsule. Paint is about 75% original. Wheels are Sigman Pitman and were bought new in 1973. Has in-dash 8 track player with under dash cb. Still living in the 70's.

Well yeah....There were fewer people, things made more sense, the vehicles were cooler, music and entertainment were much better...............Music FAR better. I dig fairly deeply into music, and can post (literally) about 140 GREAT selected tunes from the 70s, and that excludes songs done by my favorite artists. Tastes differ, but I can't even locate that many for the 2010s, great artists or otherwise. Few decent bands out there though, such as Dead Weather, Starsucker (replace middle S with F), Alabama Shakes..... Still some quality.

I hear you there. Agreed. And I wasn't even alive in the seventies, just grew up through the eighties and nineties listening to the seventies! Still do, as part of my daily mix.

Re: 67-72 Time Capsules

Now there is a time capsule. This is a look straight out of that time. Time capsules, or era-correct, trucks have been my cup of tea since I came to realize trends come and go to only suit the moment. The '71 Cheyenne Custom Camper I bought was a true survivor, all original from the original owner. I gave it a look that suited me while keeping any add-ons from no newer than the truck's time. It already had the camper that had been with it since new that the owner had painted the graphics over in matching paint. I added dual exhaust, aluminum slots with bigger on rear, and a tonneau cover to preserve the wood with camper removed. The truck still looked like it was straight out of 1971 and that is a time capsule

Re: 67-72 Time Capsules

Special K I agree with you. I have been noticing more trucks with the era-correct after market goodies. Back in the early to mid 70,s you were cool if you could afford after market wheels and a 8 track stereo.

The original owner must have liked the goodies. I recently looked at one of the GM assessor catalogs and it looks like the original owner picked a few of them and had them installed.

Truck is unrestored but has an older re-paint.

So the graphics are the same, he just matched the color to that of the truck? Regardless, those graphics are really cool... I really like the design, clean and simple.

Re: 67-72 Time Capsules

Another gem............

The original owner of my truck liked goodies as well. I couldn't wait to take the saddle tanks off and replace the bed. Then there was the boat launching hitch welded to the front chrome bumper. And the four braces welded to the frame for a 5th wheel, which I still need to cut off.....Camper mirrors and a step bumper with a receiver hitch. I still need to cut off the brace for the hitch. A CB set-up, which the only remnants are holes and possibly the harness I've yet identified.

I wasn't quite so lucky. But I can't complain too much. Has all the paper work, primary stickers, no rust, and a lot of parts that remain show quality or close enough. Blown away by the condition of the leather, less the bench seat.

The black 69... Wow!

This thread gives me something to aim for on one of my builds.
Love survivors and time capsules. Nothing better than factory stock in as new condition in my opinion.
